Better 2024: Vision, technology, and people

As we prepare to close another remarkable year at Better, three words come to mind: vision, technology, and people. These words capture the essence of what we have achieved and the foundation we will continue to build on for the future.

Our vision of the Postmodern EHR is gaining strong momentum in the healthcare community. Leading institutions across Europe, such as The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospital Basel, Karolinska University Hospital, and Zürich University Hospital, are adopting this hybrid approach that combines legacy systems with an ecosystem of applications built on a digital health platform, proving we are on the right path of transforming healthcare. The progress we have made and are making with our new and existing customers is equally inspiring. From expanding care plans in London and being selected as the preferred supplier for ePMA in Wales to significant developments in Spain, Greece, Sweden, and Switzerland, our work is driving real change. Not to mention that all over the world, the openEHR movement continues to grow, affirming the importance of open data as a cornerstone of modern healthcare.

On the technology front, this year has been all about reimagining what’s possible. We have expanded our product portfolio with new solutions and innovations centred on interoperability, modularity, and person-centred care. Our solutions address some of the most pressing challenges in healthcare while staying true to our mission of improving care delivery. AI is also becoming integral to our work, from envisioning smarter tools to enabling more intuitive ways of working with data. As I have often stressed, it is not just about building better technology but about improving care and making healthcare processes more efficient, precise, and impactful for everyone.

Finally, at the heart of everything we do are people. From our commitment to delivering person-centred healthcare, the partners we successfully collaborate with, and our incredible team at Better, which makes it all possible, people are the driving force behind every success. Our mission remains the same: to improve health and care by simplifying the work of care teams and accelerating digital transformation underpinned by data for life. The passion, dedication, and expertise of the Better team make it all possible and allow us to innovate and lead the way in helping build healthcare organisations of tomorrow.

As we look ahead to the new year, I am excited by the opportunities that will continue to shape the future of healthcare. We can succeed only together, so I thank you all for being a part of this journey.

I wish you a joyful Christmas and a fantastic New Year filled with happiness and success.
