HCAC Quality Competition – Celebrating Excellence in Healthcare

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance quality and improve healthcare services, the Health Care Accreditation Council launched the first edition of the "Quality Competition" in 2019. This initiative aims to encourage healthcare institutions to adopt best practices, support programs that improve care quality and patient safety, and celebrate innovative ideas that create a tangible positive impact on the healthcare journey.

Planting the seeds

The competition was conceived in response to the need to motivate healthcare institutions to enhance their performance through high-quality projects and initiatives that promote quality and patient safety. Participation was open to all accredited healthcare institutions, requiring them to submit measurable projects focused on improving patient outcomes, increasing satisfaction, and reducing medical errors.

To ensure the selection of the most impactful and sustainable projects, an independent judging panel was formed, comprising local and international experts in quality and healthcare. The panel evaluated projects according to strict criteria, including creativity, sustainable impact, and the potential for implementing these initiatives in other institutions.

The Journey towards excellence and Achievement

Over the years, more than 50 healthcare institutions have participated in the competition, each presenting innovative initiatives that reflect their commitment to quality standards and patient safety, showcasing their behind-the-scenes efforts in healthcare delivery.

In the third edition of the competition, several pioneering projects stood out, including:

• "Nardeen’s Story: A Voice for the Voiceless" – A project presented in the medical laboratories category, highlighting a pioneering effort to provide equitable healthcare services for people with disabilities, ensuring high-quality care that respects their rights to equal access to high quality services.
• "Smart Patient Journey" – A distinguished initiative in the hospitals category, which leveraged technology to streamline appointment and diagnostic procedures, reducing waiting times and increasing patient satisfaction.
• Primary Health Care Projects – Focused on enhancing patient engagement in healthcare through community education programs.
• Breast Imaging Units Initiatives – Aimed at raising community awareness about early breast cancer detection and its importance in improving recovery chances.
• Physical Therapy Centers Projects – Addressed the importance of empowering patients and educating them about home care techniques to ensure treatment continuity and achieve better health outcomes.

Celebrating the Winners and Sustainable Impact

At a special ceremony, winners were announced and awarded certificates of appreciation and incentive prizes, along with the opportunity to share their successful experiences with other healthcare institutions, helping to promote a culture of continuous improvement. The Health Care Accreditation Council also announced the continuation of the competition as part of the "National Quality and Patient Safety Goals" initiative, aiming to create a positive competitive environment that drives accredited healthcare institutions toward innovation and sustainable improvement.

مسابقة حصاد الجودة – نحتفي بالتميز في الرعاية الصحية

في إطار سعيه الدائم لتعزيز الجودة وتحسين الخدمات الصحية، أطلق مجلس اعتماد المؤسسات الصحية عام 2019 النسخة الأولى من مسابقة "حصاد الجودة"، وهي مبادرة تهدف إلى تحفيز المؤسسات الصحية على تبنّي أفضل الممارسات، ودعم برامج تحسين جودة الرعاية وسلامة المرضى، والاحتفاء بالأفكار المبتكرة التي تُحدث تأثيرًا إيجابيًا ملموسًا على رحلة الرعاية الصحية.

بذور الفكرة وتنفيذها

جاءت فكرة المسابقة استجابةً للحاجة إلى تشجيع المؤسسات الصحية على تحسين أدائها من خلال مشاريع ومبادرات نوعية تسهم في تعزيز الجودة وسلامة المرضى. تم فتح باب المشاركة أمام جميع المؤسسات الصحية المعتمدة، حيث طُلب منها تقديم مشاريع قابلة للقياس تركّز على تحسين نتائج المرضى، وتعزيز رضاهم، وتقليل الأخطاء الطبية.

ولضمان اختيار المشاريع الأكثر تأثيرًا واستدامة، تم تشكيل لجنة تحكيم مستقلة تضم خبراء محليين وعالميين في مجالات الجودة والرعاية الصحية، حيث قامت اللجنة بتقييم المشاريع وفق معايير دقيقة تشمل الإبداع، والتأثير المستدام، وإمكانية تطبيق المبادرات في مؤسسات أخرى.

رحلة التحدي والإنجاز

على مدار السنوات، شارك في المسابقة أكثر من 50 مؤسسة صحية، قدّمت كل منها مبادرات مبتكرة تعكس التزامها بمعايير الجودة وسلامة المرضى، وتُبرز جهودها خلف كواليس الرعاية الصحية.

في النسخة الثالثة من المسابقة، برزت مجموعة من المشاريع الرائدة، من بينها:

• "قصة ناردين: صوت من لا صوت له" – وهو مشروع مقدم ضمن فئة المختبرات الطبية، حيث تم تسليط الضوء على تجربة رائدة في إتاحة خدمات صحية متكافئة لذوي الإعاقة، بما يضمن حصولهم على رعاية متميزة تحترم حقوقهم.
• "رحلة المريض الذكية" – مبادرة مميزة في فئة المستشفيات، اعتمدت على التكنولوجيا لتبسيط إجراءات الاستقبال والتشخيص، مما أدى إلى تقليل وقت الانتظار وزيادة رضا المرضى.
• مشاريع المراكز الصحية – ركّزت على تعزيز إدماج المرضى في الرعاية الصحية من خلال برامج التثقيف المجتمعي.
• مبادرات وحدات تصوير الثدي – هدفت إلى زيادة الوعي المجتمعي بالكشف المبكر عن سرطان الثدي وأهميته في تحسين فرص الشفاء.
• مشاريع مراكز العلاج الطبيعي – تناولت أهمية تمكين المرضى وتوعيتهم بأساليب الرعاية المنزلية لضمان استمرارية العلاج وتحقيق أفضل النتائج الصحية.

الإعلان عن الفائزين والتأثير المستدام

في حفل خاص، تم الإعلان عن الفائزين الذين حصلوا على شهادات تقدير وجوائز تشجيعية، إلى جانب فرصة مشاركة تجاربهم الناجحة مع مؤسسات صحية أخرى، ما ساهم في نشر ثقافة التحسين المستمر. كما أعلن مجلس اعتماد المؤسسات الصحية عن استمرارية المسابقة ضمن مبادرة "الأهداف الوطنية لجودة وسلامة المرضى"، وذلك بهدف خلق بيئة تنافسية إيجابية تدفع المؤسسات الصحية المعتمدة نحو الابتكار والتحسين المستدام.

الختام: جودة مستدامة ومستقبل مشرق

شكّلت مسابقة حصاد الجودة نقطة تحول في تعزيز ثقافة الجودة داخل المؤسسات الصحية، وأصبحت نموذجًا يُحتذى به في تحقيق التميز في الرعاية الصحية. وبينما تستعد المؤسسات لجولات قادمة من المسابقة، يبقى الهدف الأسمى هو تقديم خدمات صحية آمنة وعالية الجودة لكل فرد في المجتمع.
