Hedonism Keeping Us Apart from the Banality of the World

Happiness is the top priority for every single human being, and we all strive to achieve it through various means. However, from my experience and perspective, we often find ourselves trapped in a loop where we believe that our hard work and smart work only contribute to self-pleasure. This mindset leads us nowhere and can ultimately be destructive to our lives.

Is being hedonistic wrong? Absolutely not. The issue lies not in seeking pleasure but in seeking it in the wrong places. We often engage in a multitude of activities throughout our day, categorizing them into survival and supplementary activities. However, we fail to identify which activities truly contribute to our happiness.

To address this, we need to start by identifying the activities outside of survival that excite us the most and gradually shift our focus to them. Additionally, incorporating small activities into our daily routine, both at the beginning and end of the day, can help compensate for the demands of our schedule and ensure we start and end our day with a smile.

This simple exercise, which involves ordering activities we already engage in, can have a significant impact on our lives. Over time, it can transform survival activities into enjoyable ones.

Some may question why we can't make enjoyable activities our main focus for survival. The reality is that only a few individuals can monetize their passions enough to sustain themselves. Therefore it's more logical to find excitement in utilizing our skills and knowledge for survival as well.

I won't delve into specific ways to find activities that make us happy, as preferences vary from person to person, and resources like Google are readily available.

In conclusion, being hedonistic is not inherently wrong; it's the approach to seeking happiness that needs to change. We should understand things not just in their absolute meaning but also consider their consequences and supplementary aspects.

I hope you find this one helpful and consider incorporating them into your life.
