High impact designs, high impact results: hydrovar® X from Bell & Gossett

Earlier this year, Bell & Gossett introduced a line of smart pump solutions powered by Xylem’s hydrovar® X Smart Motor. These solutions tout many different benefits – including ultra-premium efficiency, sustainably-sourced motor materials and a compact design, to name a few – but what really makes these solutions impactful is the thoughtful intent behind the design, including addressing the four macro trends that so closely align with our customer pain points and needs:

• Leveraging data to inform and measure a product's life cycle: As we increasingly quantify the effects of global warming and decarbonization, products need to keep pace to demonstrate their quantifiable impact on addressing these challenges. That’s why all hydrovar X smart pumps come standard with optimyze®, Xylem’s modular condition monitoring solution. In addition to being able to interface with whatever BMS is there already and utilize data in easily digestible bite size pieces, customers can proactively and in real-time measure and manage equipment failures.   

• Simplifying the portfolio: The integrated pump and hydrovar X motor design eliminates the need for additional wiring, labor and associated costs, simplifying the portfolio selection and ultimately, reducing production time across all of Xylem. Simplification and high impact in this case complement each other, as less components overall mean we can dedicate more time to solving the many other complexities that exist in the built environment.
