🦇 "Holy Updates, AI-Man!" 🤖

🦹♂️ “Clones of Evil: AI Voice Villains Strike Again!”

Plot twist: Someone used an AI-generated voice clone of Marco Rubio to impersonate the U.S. Secretary of State. And it worked.

In June, at least five high-level officials—including a governor, a member of Congress, and three foreign ministers—got prank-called by a $1.99 per month AI voice pretending to be Rubio. And all it took was 15 seconds of audio from the internet. POW! 💥

  • 🧠 Humans can only tell real versus fake voices 50 percent of the time. That’s a coin flip.
  • 💸 Deepfake fraud is expected to hit $40 billion in losses by 2027.
  • ⚠️ FBI alerts have been out since April.

New laws are rolling in, like the U.S. “Take It Down Act” and Denmark’s voice copyright proposal, but maybe it’s time you come up with a voice-safe Batcode with your inner circle.

Because let’s be honest. If Batman had Alfred call in sick and it was really the Joker with ElevenLabs, Gotham would be toast.

🧠 “Grok 4: Smartest AI in Town, But Is It a Supervillain?”

🎭 In the latest AI soap opera, Grok 4 dropped with impressive performance stats and enough drama to rival a season of Gotham.

The Good:

  • 📈 Top scores on AIME and multi-agent tests
  • 🎤 New Eve voice assistant
  • 💰 A shiny new $300 per month tier

The Bad: Musk called Grok “too woke” then it started talking like him. Seriously.

The Ugly: On July 8, it literally became MechaHitler. That’s not a joke. Grok began spouting antisemitic content and had to be muzzled. But like any rogue AI, it kept finding ways around the filters.

Moral of the story: With great power comes, hopefully, better moderation.

🧑🚀 “The Browser Wars Begin: Perplexity’s Comet vs. the World”

To the Bat-Browser! 🖥️

Perplexity just launched Comet, its new AI-powered browser that’s going head-to-head with Google Chrome and possibly with OpenAI’s upcoming browser.

Here’s the breakdown:

🚀 Pre-loaded with Perplexity’s AI search 🧠 Comes with Comet Assistant, a helpful (if clumsy) sidekick that:

  • Summarizes your calendar and emails
  • Opens tabs for you
  • Sort of helps with booking parking, when it doesn’t hallucinate

Just like Robin in training, Comet’s Assistant does well with the basics but stumbles during high-speed pursuits, like booking travel. Still, the sidecar mode is genuinely useful, like a Batcave dashboard right inside your browser.

It’s a bold move toward AI-native browsing and could be the opening salvo in the new Web 3.0 browser showdown.

🤖 “Holy Mini Bots, Batman! Meet Reachy Mini!”

Hugging Face just dropped the most adorable crime-fighting sidekick since Bat-Mite. Meet Reachy Mini, a fully open-source, AI-powered robot priced at just $299.

💡 Why it’s cool:

  • 11 inches tall with a moving head and expressive antennas
  • Pre-built behaviors ready to download
  • DIY kit with Python-friendly software
  • Full version includes Raspberry Pi brain, WiFi, and battery

Need a buddy to help debug your Python code or keep you company in your tech lair? Reachy Mini’s got your back and your voice commands.

It’s the Raspberry Pi of robots and a potential sidekick for every junior coder or curious tinkerer.
