The Hospital at Home has largely been unexplored and under-valued. But the COVID-19 pandemic highlights the opportunities hiding in plain site this model promises. By delivering a full array of health services in the patient's own home, congregate settings are eliminated and quarantine practices can be preserved. And the problems that currently plague transitions of care that occur as patients transfer to multiple care settings as they progress through the treatment of and recovery from their illness are practically eliminated.
