How AI is Helping Us Build Stronger Connections in Hiring
AI in recruitment often sparks debate—will it make hiring too automated, too impersonal? At Beyond ONE, we’ve found the opposite to be true. Instead of replacing human connection, AI has helped us enhance it.
As a company that grows through acquisitions, we constantly bring together teams with different hiring processes, different ways of evaluating talent, and different expectations. Maintaining consistency while moving at speed has been one of our biggest challenges. Hiring managers were spending more time taking notes than engaging with candidates. Job descriptions varied in clarity, inclusivity, and tone. And when it came time to make hiring decisions, conversations often relied more on memory than on structured insights.
We knew something had to change. We wanted our recruiters and hiring managers to focus on what they do best—having meaningful conversations with candidates and making thoughtful, informed decisions. AI became the tool that allowed us to do just that.
One of the first areas we tackled was job descriptions. They shape a candidate’s first impression, yet many of ours were inconsistent—some filled with jargon, others unintentionally biased, and many that didn’t reflect our company’s true culture. To fix this, we built BeyondJD, an AI-powered tool trained on our brand voice and values. It helps recruiters create clearer, more inclusive job descriptions, allowing hiring managers to focus on articulating what they really need rather than getting stuck in wording debates.
Next, we looked at our interview process. Hiring managers were often too busy documenting conversations to be fully present in interviews. We introduced BrightHire, a tool that records and transcribes interviews, enabling interviewers to focus on engaging with candidates rather than frantically taking notes. The difference was immediate—conversations became more natural and insightful, decisions were made based on real discussions rather than scattered notes, and candidates felt the shift. One even told us how refreshing it was to have an interviewer’s full attention rather than watching them type throughout the conversation.
Beyond efficiency, AI has changed how we work day to day. Recruiters now have the space to pick up on nuances and deeper insights from candidates. Hiring managers make decisions based on structured conversations rather than fragmented recollections. The process itself has become more consistent, more transparent, and ultimately, more human. And at a broader level, AI has allowed us to scale hiring without sacrificing the quality of interviews or the candidate experience.
We’re still learning and refining as we go. We’re rolling out these tools across more regions and developing training programs like our Bar Raiser Program to ensure our teams make the most of them. But one thing is clear—AI isn’t replacing human connection in hiring. It’s making space for it.
If you’re considering a role at Beyond ONE, yes, you’ll encounter AI in the process. But more importantly, you’ll meet interviewers who are genuinely engaged, who truly want to get to know you—not just check boxes. Because at the heart of everything we do, hiring is about people. And AI is simply helping us do that better.
