How an apprenticeship at Nebula can set you up for life
At Nebula, we take pride in investing in our apprentices, providing technical training, personal development, and learning the hands on skills needed to thrive in a professional environment. Confidence, capability and a clear path forward is what our apprentices gain when working at Nebula!
In this blog, you’ll hear from four of our current and former apprentices, sharing their journey, what they’ve learned, and how their time at Nebula has helped shape their careers.

Marketing & Events
When I first joined Nebula as a marketing apprentice, I knew nothing about the world of marketing - I just knew that this is what I wanted to try, and I was eager to learn. Fast forward to now, a few weeks away from completing my apprenticeship and I’m proud to say I’ve grown into a role which I am able to lead almost entirely independently, and I have had the freedom to adapt it into my own and make it work for me.
I’ve developed a wide range of skills and knowledge that I never imagined I'd have at this stage, and I’m not just talking about hard skills. The confidence and real-world experience I’ve gained whilst being at Nebula is something I will forever be grateful for.
What made the difference was the trust, support, and hands-on learning environment Nebula provides. I was encouraged to ask questions, try different things, make mistakes, and keep going. That freedom to grow has been key to building my confidence and being successful in my work.

Support Engineer
Joining Nebula as an apprentice just over a year and a half ago, I was introduced to the world of IT. From day one, I was encouraged to get stuck in, learn on the job, and take on real responsibility. The hands-on experience, alongside the support of the helpdesk team, helped me build a solid understanding of technical processes and customer service.
As my confidence and knowledge grew, I made the step up to 1st Line Engineer – completing my apprenticeship earlier this year. I now handle a wide range of support issues and work directly with clients, often relying on split-second decision-making and mental agility to troubleshoot effectively under pressure. The apprenticeship was the perfect starting point – it gave me the tools, mindset, and experience I needed to move forward in my career.
Jason
Service Manager
I started at Nebula as an apprentice after working in the social care sector for nearly 10 years. The apprenticeship gave me hands-on exposure to real-world IT issues and the chance to learn from a supportive, knowledgeable team.
Over time, I developed not only technical skills but also confidence in communication, leadership, and decision-making. The experience laid a strong foundation and opened up opportunities to grow. Now I’m proud to lead the Managed Services Team. It’s been a great journey, and it all started with that first step into the industry as an apprentice.
Morgan
Support Engineer
My apprenticeship at Nebula has been instrumental in developing my technical skills from the ground up. Over time, I've gained the confidence and capability to troubleshoot complex issues I wouldn’t have imagined tackling just a year ago. It has also opened my eyes to the wide range of career paths available in the IT industry and helped me understand where my strengths and interests lie.
If you're looking for a place where you'll be challenged, supported, and given the space to grow, an apprenticeship with Nebula might be exactly what you need. We’re proud of what our apprentices have achieved, and we’re excited to continue giving people the opportunity to start their careers off on the right track!
