Rik will show you how, based on four elaborated tips. And there will be plenty of interaction to support it.
Jenny came up through support and DevOps, cutting her teeth on that interesting role that acts as the ‘translator’ between customer requests from support and the development team before diving headlong into her career as a tester. She’s done testing, support, or human interfacing for most of her career.
Jenny's speech title is Principles of Testing. In this talk, Jenny strives to answer the question of why we test and why we make the choices we do. She will share her own personal principles of testing that help her make all of her testing decisions – from choosing what falls into regression, to what gets automated, and even who she invites to join her teams. You’ll leave with a newfound sense of purpose and the ability to create your own principles of testing.
Vernon is a Quality Coach & Tester that helps orgs, teams & individuals understand the relationship between quality & testing to help them build better products & deliver more effective services.
Vernon's speech title is How we're setting up QEs to fail: How I Think Quality Engineering, Glue Work And Quiet Quitting Are Related and what we can do about it! In 20 years of testing, Vernon noticed a pattern: People are trying to influence the system, so software delivery becomes more effective and better products become more likely. This work is Technical Leadership, and it often occurs outside the job description and others' expectations. Doing work over and above your job description for no recognition is tiring, and people are opting out of that. Vernon will share his findings about how quality professionals find themselves in this predicament, how those dynamics manifest in our teams and what we can do to prevent them from happening or handle them when they do.
Erika is passionate about quality, culture and leadership. One of her favorite jobs is helping people turn the box on leadership in a way that empowers them to empower others. Through her coaching and consulting, Erika helps leaders, teams and organizations define standards, develop processes and drive policies that cultivate a culture of quality.
Erika's speech title is Bigger than the box. Has quality been put in a box? Has its focus and scope been narrowed to a single step in the delivery process? Has the role of quality in your organization been relegated to the test step, and its value beyond that diminished? Join Erika Chestnut will shares how she breaks out of the box and crosses the aisles to elevate and expand the role quality in her organizations. Learn how to influence from the middle, socialize the full potential of quality and cultivate a culture of quality defined, developed, and driven by Quality Champions.
