How I Use Energy to Run My Business and Why It’s More Effective Than Hustling

How I Use Energy to Run My Business and Why It’s More Effective Than Hustling

What if your calendar wasn’t your CEO?

What if your strategy didn’t lead, but followed? What if the most productive thing you could do this morning wasn’t open your laptop, but close your eyes?

This is the reality I live in now.

As someone who once believed success came from hard work, grit, and relentless effort, I’ve completely rewritten business rules for myself and the clients I guide. I now run my business based on energy alignment first, not external metrics. And yes, it works.

Here’s how I use energy, intuition, and soul connection to grow a sustainable, soul-aligned business, without burning out or betraying myself.

The Old Way: Hustle, Push, Perform

I come from a background where structure was everything. In the healthcare system, there’s a protocol for every step. There’s no room for guesswork or slow mornings. You show up, follow the chart, do what needs to be done, and move on.

So when I left healthcare to start a business, I carried those patterns with me. My days were filled with task lists, scheduling tools, and the constant anxiety that I wasn’t doing enough. I’d force productivity, even when I felt drained. I’d post online because I was “supposed to be visible,” not because I had something real to say.

Eventually, I realized something important:

I wasn’t building a business. I was building a cage with prettier walls.

That’s when everything changed.

The Shift: From Strategy to Soul

I stopped treating business like a race to win or a problem to fix. Instead, I began listening to myself, to my intuition, and to my energy.

Now, before anything else happens in my business, I start with one thing: alignment.

Each morning, I begin with meditation. I connect with my spirit guides and ask:

“What do I need to know today?”

“Where should my energy be focused?”

I don’t ask these questions to “get answers” in a traditional sense. I ask to tune in to the frequency of my work, to get into a relationship with my business as a living entity, not a machine I’m supposed to control.

Only after that inner clarity arrives do I open my laptop.

And you know what?

When I work from that place, aligned, grounded, intentional, the workflows. The right people show up. The next step becomes obvious.

What Energy-Led Business Looks Like

Let me be clear: this is not about bypassing action or sitting around “manifesting” with no movement. This is about understanding that the energetic foundation gives your physical action its power.

Here’s what that looks like in real-time:

1. Mornings Are Sacred

I don’t jump into work. My morning practice is non-negotiable.

  • I meditate (even if only for 10 minutes).
  • I check in with my guides.
  • I journal what comes through.
  • And only then do I ask, “What’s the one thing I’m meant to focus on today?”

This keeps me from chasing distractions or forcing plans that aren’t aligned.

2. My Calendar Isn’t the Boss, I Am

Instead of scheduling every hour, I set intentions for each day or week based on what feels alive. I still honor commitment deadlines and permit myself to pivot if the energy isn’t there.

This flexibility doesn’t create chaos; it creates flow. My output is more focused because I’m not fighting myself.

3. Marketing Becomes Magnetism

I don’t post content to “stay visible.” I post when I have something real to share, something that feels alive in my body. That might be a story from a client session, a moment of doubt I moved through, or a reminder that business gets to be human.

Because the energy behind the message is aligned, the right people always feel it. They say, “I don’t know why, but I needed to hear this today.”

That’s resonance. That’s visibility that works.

4. Rest Is Strategy

I don’t hustle to prove my worth anymore. If I feel drained, I pause. If I feel inspired, I move.

I might rest mid-week and work a Saturday if the energy calls for it. I trust the cycles. I trust myself. And because I do, my business supports me in return.

Why This Works (and Why It Feels Radical)

We’ve been taught to believe that effort equals results. Effort without alignment creates burnout, not success.

When you lead with energy:

  • Your message becomes more magnetic.
  • Your actions become more effective.
  • Your clients arrive ready, because you’re not convincing anyone—you’re calling in those already attuned to your frequency.

This is especially important for former medical professionals like me, trained to override intuition in favor of protocols. In business, that conditioning becomes a block. You wait for permission, look for the “right” formula, and question your inner knowing.

Entrepreneurship asks something different. It asks you to lead with who you are. Trusting your presence, not your productivity, is what creates impact.

Energy First. Results Will Follow.

When I say I use energy to run my business, I mean this:

  • I trust my guidance more than any trend.
  • I believe rest is part of my work.
  • I create content when the energy is aligned, not just when my calendar says to.
  • I attract clients through resonance, not pressure.
  • I build sustainable success by listening first, then acting.

I’ve seen this work not just in my business but also in the lives of the people I coach, especially those leaving healthcare and learning how to reconnect to their inner truth.

A New Way Is Not Just Possible. It’s Here

You're not wrong if you feel that the traditional way of building a business doesn’t work. You're evolving.

This is the invitation to do it differently:

  • Start your day in stillness.
  • Ask what your soul needs before asking what your business needs.
  • Let your energy set the pace.

Because when you move from aligned energy, you don’t need to do more to be successful.

You need to be you. Fully. Unapologetically. Powerfully.

And that is enough.

You don’t need a funnel. You need a frequency.

And it starts with how you show up before the work ever begins.
