Humans of Science: Let’s tell the stories that matter!
June 9, 2025 | Author: Jiten Pant, PhD || Green Scientist || NOBiotics
There’s something I’ve been carrying for years- a quiet weight, a deep knowing that too many stories in science are left untold. Not the stories of Nobel prizes or venture-backed labs. But the ones of those who built the very foundation for those things and were never seen.
Today, I’m launching Humans of Science, a newsletter built not for applause, but for truth.
For the scientists whose names are buried in the middle of the author list. For the ones who trained others, wrote the methods, fixed the broken machines, stayed up through failed experiments, and kept going without recognition, without security, without glory.
This is for the PhD who gets mistaken for a student assistant. For the postdoc whose visa hangs by a thread while they keep someone else’s lab afloat. For the immigrant who left family behind to chase questions no one else bothered to ask. For the scientist who quietly reshaped a field but was never invited to speak.
For the ones who are tired. But still show up. Still believe. Still give everything they have to the promise that knowledge can change the world.
Humans of Science is a space to honor the minds and souls who hold science together - not because it pays well, not because it’s glamorous, but because they can’t imagine not doing it.
It’s not about prestige, it’s about purpose. It’s not about who got credit, it’s about who kept going when no one was watching.
If you’ve ever felt invisible in the lab, dismissed at the conference, underpaid for your brilliance, or silenced in a system that rewards power over truth -this is for you.
If you’ve ever known someone like that- this is for them.
It’s a calling. Because science isn’t built on fame. It’s built on people. And it’s time the world knew their names.
Welcome to Humans of Science.
Let’s tell the stories that matter!
Let’s make the invisible seen!
