The "I do not have time" fallacy

"I DO NOT HAVE TIME": Are we really serious when making this kind of statement? First thing is to admit that the "time" concept is something that can not be "owned", and therefore there is no way to "have" something that is completly independent and happening outside of our control... The point in here is that EVERYBODY "has" the same time available: 24 hours per day!!!!. There is no single entity/person in the earth that "has" more or less hours in a day. If we agree then that everyone "has" the same time, let us focus then on HOW WE DECIDE to make use of it. Basically, it is a matter to take the OWNERSHIP and responsability on what are the tasks / actions we want to do during that universaly constant period of time.

I have found always interesting the way several technics and tools are presented to improve individuals "Time Management" skills... Well, knowing that this could be disruptive, let me share that TIME CANNOT BE MANAGED!!!! As mentioned before, the clock is ticking at a regular pace, and one earth rotation takes 24Hrs per day, and we cannot do ANYTHING to change / manage that.! What we can manage, is the way WE DECIDE to prioritize things we want to do. Therefore, admiting that there are a set of good tools out there to help being more organized, let us recognize those tools for being BETTER at the time of choosing our priorities: it is a personal DECISION and CHOICE. So basically, it is a matter of learning how to manage ourselves FIRST, our priorities and how we want to behave (aligned to our values?) in our personal and professional lives.

The challenge: Let me kindly invite you to never use again the phrase "I do not have time" from now on.....I experience myself a very interesting challenge when decided to do so.
