Illumina on The Future 50 list of companies best positioned for breakout growth
I’m excited to see Illumina on The Future 50 with great companies like Amazon, Netflix, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Alibaba and Tencent. Fortune magazine and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) create this list to identify the next decade’s fastest-growing companies around the world.
“Our index is forward-looking, in the sense that it aims to measure vitality—a company’s capacity to reinvent its business and sustain revenue growth,” BCG said of The Future 50. For the list, BCG analyzed the growth potential, strategy, technology and investments, people and structure of 1,100 publicly traded companies with at least $20 billion in market value or $10 billion in revenue in 2017.
The Future 50 is our most recent recognition. On October 10th, Forbes named Illumina one of The World’s Best Employers of 2018 after analyzing 360,000+ recommendations from a global surveys, asking employees to rate their employer and recommend other employers.

6yThat is not a surprise. You have a CEO with great vision and the ability to get things done. Without, I would add, the drama of Illumina's competitors that are more concerned about cutting costs and in the process lobotomizing their intellectual capital (some of which has fled to Illumina), instead of spending money on a healthy corporate culture and on future positioning their R&D.
