Inside Oxagon: Shaping the Future of Industry
By integrating advanced and clean manufacturing, sustainable innovation and global connectivity, Oxagon presents a visionary blueprint for tomorrow's industrial cities.
Oxagon, NEOM’s reimagined industrial city, is a bold response to the world’s most pressing challenges—from climate change and resource scarcity to supply chain disruption and economic resilience.
Strategically located on the Red Sea coast, near the Suez Canal, Oxagon is built from the ground up to be adaptive, sustainable, and connected. By localizing production, leveraging renewable energy at source and integrating next-generation technologies, Oxagon redefines how industrial and urban development can coexist—with resilience, livability and sustainability at its core.
“Industrial development cannot continue at the expense of people or the environment,” says Vishal Wanchoo, CEO of Oxagon. “We’re offering a compact, mixed-use city where industry, nature, and community coexist.”
Redefining the Industrial City
Oxagon challenges outdated industrial models by combining AI-powered urban planning, sustainable infrastructure and a high-performance port into a cohesive ecosystem. It is designed to scale innovation, accelerate clean manufacturing and attract ambitious businesses, researchers and entrepreneurs.
The Port of NEOM, Oxagon’s smart logistics hub, connects Asia, Europe, and Africa. Strategically positioned to facilitate global trade, the port is designed to achieve net-zero operations, powered by renewable energy, and has a planned capacity of 1.5 million TEUs.
“This is more than a gateway to NEOM. It’s a launchpad for global growth,” says Melissa Blake, Director at Port of NEOM.
Clean Energy at the Core
At Oxagon, renewable energy is foundational. NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is building the world’s largest green hydrogen plant in Oxagon’s Industrial Quarter. By 2026, it is expected to produce up to 600 tonnes of carbon-free hydrogen daily, supporting global energy transition efforts and catalyzing local manufacturing growth.
“Our port and manufacturing districts will be powered by renewables-based energy, positioning Oxagon as a leader in net-zero industrial operations,” says Howard Wu, Executive Director of International Investments and Manufacturing at Oxagon.
Designed for Livability and Innovation
Oxagon’s vision extends beyond industry to create a livable, human-centric environment. Oxagon Village is a car-free, pedestrian-first district offering diverse residential options, green spaces and connected amenities—all within a five-minute walk radius.
“We’re merging clean industry and community to create a compelling place to live and work,” says Johann Schumacher, Development Director at Oxagon.
Innovation Bay, Oxagon’s research and entrepreneurship district, will host world-class institutions, R&D centers and accelerator programs, helping entrepreneurs and businesses translate ideas into impact.
A Model for the Future
With Industry 4.0 principles, circular economy integration and an unwavering commitment to sustainability, Oxagon is positioned to lead the global transformation of industrial cities.
“Oxagon is where ambition meets action,” says Wanchoo. “It’s where the world’s most forward-thinking minds will build the future of industry.”
