This Isn't Just Growth. It's Alignment.

A quick note before we begin: I originally launched Reframe the Narrative on the McNeil Creative Enterprises business page in May 2025. You can still visit that page to read the first six reflections. But moving forward, I’ll be sharing all future posts here—on my personal profile. If you’d like to follow along, be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss what’s coming next.

With national arts funding under threat, it’s more urgent than ever to double down on creative strategy, collective power, and visionary leadership. Our brilliance isn’t optional—it’s essential.

Welcome to Reframe the Narrative—a blog series for creatives, strategists, and cultural leaders navigating the intersections of leadership, legacy, learning, and impact.

This isn’t a space for perfection or performance—it’s a space for process and reflection. A space to pause long enough to tell the truth about where we are, what we’ve outgrown, and what we’re choosing to build now.

I’ll be sharing from my own journey as a founder, strategist, and Black woman committed to doing values-aligned work without burning out in the process. But this isn’t just about me—it’s about all of us.

Each post is an offering. A prompt. A mirror.

And the name? Reframe the Narrative came from a truth I kept circling: We don’t always need to start over. But we often need to name things differently to see them clearly.

So many of us are working inside stories we didn’t write—stories that reduce our work to deliverables or flatten our intentions. This blog is about reclaiming language, strategy, and space. It’s about questioning the frameworks we’ve inherited—and giving ourselves permission to build something more honest and reflective.

You’ll see posts about my personal leadership evolution. But you’ll also find field reflections from work with cultural organizations, foundations, and creatives—designed to spark new thinking across arts, culture, and creative leadership spaces.

Together, we’ll explore how storytelling can be reporting—and how data, when used with care, can illuminate the soul of our work.

We’ll ask:

  • What kinds of data help tell a richer story of our impact?
  • How can we use stories and stats to reflect purpose, not just performance?
  • What if success was defined by resonance, relationships, or ripple effects—not just numbers?

Reframe the Narrative is the first offering inside something bigger—The Creator’s Well, a new branch of McNeil Creative Enterprises created to hold the ideas, tools, and reflections that haven’t always had a public home. A place for the work behind the work.

If you’ve been carrying vision, wrestling with how to tell the truth of your work, or simply need space to think through what’s next—this series is for you.

Subscribe. Share. Reflect out loud if it moves you. We’re just getting started.
