Its great when you start.

Its great when you start.

Last week I decided to really make things happen for my health and stop going 2 steps forward and one back. The picture above was when I was over 30 stone and so yes a few people mentioned I have done well, however not well enough and I have faltered along the way.

I decided I needed to practice what I preach and set a goal and then be flexible enough to realise if it was achievable by establishing the facts. I  discovered after a scan of fat and muscle mass I have 186 lbs of muscle so therefore and attempt to lose 150 lbs would not be possible or healthy. However 75 lbs is. I can report that 8 lbs have now come off this target so 67 is the new target. For anyone concerned I actually ate more this last week and also did not exercise other than a few walks and a few presentations.

I am feeling positive but this week is the tester. I have had success and like many who set off with a goal the first few weeks are exciting then you have to keep to the plan. I fly to the States tomorrow and a will have to make the right decisions about nutrition while on the move. Its about preparation and purpose lets see if I can prepare and if my purpose is clear enough to me. I firmly believe if you want something bad enough you will make the right decisions lets see I will report back next week warts and all.

Ask yourself the question "How committed are you to doing what needs done to get the outcome you want? " You maybe be interested but there is a huge difference between being interested or committed and only you know the answer.

Nice one Iain - like the old story about the difference between an omelette and a bacon sandwich - the hen was involved but the pig was committed

Great, thought provoking article Iain. Especially the 'how committed are you....' part.

That's great, Iain. I'm sure it will also encourage others. Well done for having the courage to share your story.
