There’s a new rocket in town: Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos unveiled a rocket “expected to compete against Elon Musk’s SpaceX and other companies for commercial satellite launches before the end of the decade.” Blue Origin plans to also take paying passengers up to 62 miles into space so they can experience a few minutes of microgravity as early as 2018.
Mergers galore: Canadian information-technology provider Open Text is looking to grow its content-management product offerings by buying the enterprise content division of the newly merged Dell Inc. and EMC Corp. for $1.62 billion, The Wall Street Journalreports. It’s a busy time for Dell: The “megamerger” with EMC was completed just days before the Open Text announcement.

Facebook Messenger just “filled the biggest hole in its chatbot platform” by allowing its 30,000 messenger bots to accept payments natively instead of sending users to an external site, TechCrunch reports. Facebook is working with “all the major players” including PayPal, Visa and others. It’s a move that’s great for Facebook, and not so great for our credit cards.
The EpiPen fiasco continues with nearly 1,000 EpiPen users expressing interest in joining parent company Mylan’s class-action suit filed by a Cincinnati lawyer for its alleged price-gouging. The pen was $57 in 2007 and now sits at more than $600 for a pack of two.
