July 2025 – 🤝 Scanbot SDK joins Apryse, Native SDK 7.1.0, and an improved documentation
This month, we're bringing you news on Scanbot SDK becoming part of Apryse, our revamped documentation, and the 7.1.0 release of our Android and iOS SDKs.
Happy reading!
Scanbot SDK is now part of Apryse
Effective July 2025, Scanbot SDK has joined Apryse, a global leader in document processing technology.
This is a monumental milestone in our mission to make data capture as easy, accurate, and fast as possible. We’re excited because this partnership truly feels like a natural fit – both our companies are deeply committed to empowering developers with high-performance, easy-to-integrate SDKs.
Our team, the product roadmap, and all current agreements will remain in place.
What will get even better is the developer experience: faster innovation, more integration options, and a broader community of shared knowledge, thanks to access to Apryse’s extensive resources.
Thank you for being part of our journey so far. The best is yet to come!
Check out the SDK's improved documentation
We've recently revamped the Scanbot SDK's documentation to make it even easier for you to find precisely the information you need. As an added quality-of-life improvement, you can now quickly switch between frameworks and SDKs no matter which page you're on. You can also see the latest SDK version for each platform at a glance.

We'll continue improving the documentation. If there's something you'd like to see in a future update or share your experience with the docs in general, contact us at sdk@scanbot.io.
Updates
Native
Android:
iOS:
Version 7.1.0 of the Native SDK introduces three new RTU UI screens for VIN scanning, check scanning, and the Document Data Extractor!
The VIN Scanner automatically extracts Vehicle Identification Numbers – both from the character sequence itself and the accompanying barcode, if available. By validating the checksum, the scanner automatically checks the integrity of the extracted data.
The Check Scanner reads the Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) line on paper checks. It automatically extracts the routing number, account number, and check number, along with further optional data.
Finally, the Document Data Extractor processes various types of ID documents. With this update, we've expanded its coverage to include the latest German identity cards, as well as ID documents from Hong Kong, Macao, and China, Chinese entry and exit permits, and European driver’s licenses.
For Android developers, Document Scanner v.7.1.0 brings a quality-of-life improvement: You can now utilize a mock camera directly within your emulators. This facilitates testing without physical devices.
If you're using our Document Quality Analyzer, please note that we have made several performance improvements. Consequently, the quality score output for the same input may differ slightly between SDK versions.
