June Journeys: Progress, Partnerships & Possibilities
Broadwell College of Business and Economics is thrilled to announce the official launch of our Bloomberg Terminal Lab.

June Journeys: Progress, Partnerships & Possibilities

As we welcome June, I'm immensely proud to share the exciting developments from the Broadwell College of Business and Economics.

This month, we've made significant strides in academic innovation. We launched our new B.Sc. in Construction Project Management, a dynamic degree addressing critical workforce needs. We also celebrated the grand opening of our Bloomberg Terminal Lab, featuring 20 terminals—offering unparalleled experiential learning in all our programs.

Beyond these program enhancements, our students continue to achieve national recognition. We congratulate Justin Pruitt and Jabril Crudup for their 1st place nationwide win in the FBLA-Collegiate National Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition, and Aria Freeman for winning the national Pitch Competition at the HBCU Entrepreneurship Empowerment Summit.  Our MBA students further excelled by earning the prestigious Tier 3 SAS Academic Specialization Certifications in Data Analytics.. Grant Bennett's graduation from the elite Cannes Lions School Creative Academy along with research presentations in Sweden also highlights our global reach.

Our strategic centers are equally impactful: The FSU HUB connects local businesses to vital funding, the Cybersecurity Academy at CDHS prepares students for future tech roles, and CERPAA leads in ERP and advanced analytics.

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of representing Fayetteville State University at the National HBCU Business Deans Roundtable Conference in New York City. This important gathering of leaders focused on innovation, collaboration, and the future of HBCU business education. A heartfelt thank you to NobleReach™️ for their sponsorship and ongoing commitment to empowering institutions like ours. It was a pleasure to connect with Dr. Linda Bixby, Kuzeyhan Ozdemir, and Thomas J. Fever, co-author of Venture Meets Mission. Our shared dedication to developing the next generation of purpose-driven leaders was evident in every conversation—and the momentum from these discussions continues to inspire our path forward.  I also had the opportunity to attend and participate in the National Association of State Board of Accountancy's (NASBA) Regional Meeting.  This year's conference focus on several key opportunities (as well as challenges) to the accounting profession including AI, alternative practice structures and cybersecurity, just to name a few.  Great networking opportunity existed for professional and students.
