Tennet and new developments in Offshore Wind
Last year, at the Offshore Wind 2023, TenneT shared groundbreaking developments and ambitious goals that are propelling the offshore wind industry forward. These advancements are not only milestones for TenneT but also for the entire offshore wind community, demonstrating our collective commitment to a sustainable energy future.

Key topics covered in the presentation include:
Partnership Initiatives: Awarding construction contracts for a 2 GW cable system to transport power from offshore wind farms to the German mainland.
Extensive Infrastructure: Nearly 2000 km of HVDC cables and over 300 km of onshore installation, aiming for completion by 2031.
Significant Investments: Over €4.5 billion invested in 2022, with projections to reach €8 billion annually by 2025.
Future Goals: Expanding to more than 9000 km of cable systems and increasing grid connections to supply clean wind energy to up to 68 million households by 2031.
