The kind of connection we’re choosing to build

At Adventures in Good Company, our work has always been about connection. The kind that’s built around campfires and on winding trails, across borders and through shared experiences. And like any relationship, the connection we have with you, our travelers, matters deeply to us, especially during uncertain times.

Over the past few months, we’ve heard from some of our Canadian travelers — women who’ve hiked with us, swapped stories under the stars, and become part of this community we care so much about. A few have reached out to share that, given recent political tensions between our countries, they’re feeling unsure about continuing to travel with a U.S.-based company. Others have quietly stepped away from trips they were once excited about.

We understand where you're coming from. And we hold a deep respect for anyone who is taking a closer look at the values behind the companies they choose to support. For us, that reflection isn’t new; it’s something we’re committed to every day.

Travel, as we see it, isn’t just about where you go — it’s about how you show up and what you carry with you. We’ve always believed in leading with integrity, building bridges across cultures and communities, and creating space where women feel safe, supported, and seen.

We also know that some of our U.S.-based travelers are wondering how they’ll be received abroad — and that’s a valid concern. What we’ve seen, time and again, is that kindness, curiosity, and open-mindedness still go a long way. Our partners remain eager to welcome you, and traveling with a small, thoughtfully formed group can offer both reassurance and perspective. It’s a powerful counterbalance to the negative noise of the world — and a chance to connect with someone from a different generation, background, or belief system. That kind of connection doesn’t just make a trip memorable; it reminds us of what’s possible when we show up with intention and remain open to being changed by the experience.

If now doesn’t feel like the right time to travel with us, we honor that. And if you’re seeking a reason to stay connected, we hope it helps to know that your presence supports a lasting impact.

When you travel with AGC, you’re not just signing up for an itinerary; you’re joining a small circle of women who look out for one another. Traveling with a group brings a unique kind of comfort, especially in a world that can sometimes feel unpredictable. You’re not alone. Our guides are experienced, our groups are supportive, and our shared purpose is to create something meaningful together.

There’s also an intention behind how we travel. We partner with locally owned businesses, many of them women-led, and mostly stay in independent lodges, eat in neighborhood restaurants, and hire community-based guides. That way, your travel dollars go directly to the people and places we visit, not into large international chains. That matters to us, and we know it matters to you, too.

One traveler recently shared this reflection after our trip to Cuba this year:

“The Cuban people were wonderful and we had many chances to interact with them during our cultural excursions. The trip provided many unforgettable moments; from witnessing the beauty of the mountains to hearing the majestic voices of a choir. It was a life-changing trip for me, and I thank AGC for an itinerary that let us see the natural and cultural beauty of the country, without shying away from the more difficult parts.”

Stories like this reaffirm the significance of our mission and highlight the profound impact of travel when we immerse ourselves fully and journey with purpose.

We also aim to reduce our environmental impact and preserve the places we explore by practicing Leave No Trace principles, minimizing waste, avoiding over-touristed areas, and encouraging reusable containers and gear. Our intimate group sizes, typically 12 or fewer, ensure that our presence is felt in the right ways.

This isn’t just how we run trips. It’s how we build relationships: with our travelers, our guides, our partners, and the land itself.

We’re not here to pretend things aren’t complicated right now. But we do want to be clear: you’ll always be welcome here. Not just welcomed — valued. Whether you’re hiking with us in British Columbia or the Great Smokies, paddling in the Adirondacks or with manatees, or joining a trip somewhere entirely new, our commitment to you remains the same.

We don’t always get everything right. But we’ve seen how moments of uncertainty can become opportunities to reconnect with what matters most. Whether it's responding to wildfires, adapting through global travel disruptions, or simply listening to our travelers’ evolving needs, we try to show up with heart, humility, and a clear sense of purpose.

If you decide to take a step back right now, we’ll be here when you’re ready. And if you’re still looking for a way to explore the world with care, curiosity and community, you’ll always find that here.

With deep appreciation,

Kelly Kimple, CEO & Owner
