Be kind to yourself

Life throws some hard curve balls at us sometimes and leaves us feeling like we are treading water. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It may be a day filled with 10+ meetings back to back or a family emergency that needs your attention and requires creatively balancing things in a way that meets everyone’s needs (including your own!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This sense of overwhelm and busyness may be the norm for you. Your brain and body may be accustomed to it, so seeing a different way of being may be challenging even if it may be GOOD for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Observe how this sense of overwhelm and busyness affects your energy levels, health, relationships, family, productivity. You may find yourself completely wiped out by the end of the day, leaving you with very little energy to engage with your loved ones, make a healthy meal or enjoy (really enjoy) some downtime. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You feel like you are treading water. You feel like you have to keep going and keep doing all the things. How heavy does that feel to you? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Consider that there is a different way, there is a lighter way. You believe that there is, and may be too busy treading water to see it. What if I told you that you can take ONE step today towards floating through your day?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

That one step is unique to you! Below are some possibilities: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Stay hydrated. Fill up your water bottle AND drink it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Practice meditation. Set a timer and focus on your breath for 1 to 2 minutes several times throughout the day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Listen to your favorite song, extra bonus points if you get up and dance!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The possibilities are endless.

Pick one thing that energizes and enables you to take care of yourself on a daily basis. The beautiful thing is that you can do it as many times as you’d like throughout your day.⠀⠀

It can be as big or small as you’d like it to be. The key is to practice whatever step you choose. Be kind to yourself, I know you can be! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What is ONE thing you can do for yourself to help you float through your day? Comment below.
