In honor of Father's Day weekend, I want to give a shoutout to my dad, and all the other amazing dads out there! From taking me to my first NASCAR race to countless weekends at the lake, my dad has always made it a priority to create fun memories for our family. Have a great Father's Day weekend, I’ll be spending mine at the lake with my dad, hopefully avoiding any dings from the docks!

🌞 Summer is here...and so are the Martin Engineering summer interns. It's always good to see these young, eager faces in the halls. I, of course, am partial to a particular intern in the maintenance department, my nephew. I know how much he loves seeing his auntie every day! With June being National Safety Month, it's a perfect time to remind new and old hires, as well as interns, to keep safety in mind.

Severe Belt Mistracking in the Loading Zone Decreased Safety & Increased Downtime

Compromising workplace safety and increasing the potential for a belt fire, the problem led to disruptive downtime to replace the expensive belt, which increased the cost of operation and reduced plant production.

Conveyor Safety - Are you talking the talk or walking the walk?
Last week while teaching a Conveyor Safety class, I made a statement that shocked the group (and angered a few). “You aren’t doing everything you can to keep workers safe around conveyors.” I had not reviewed their safety policies nor had I even seen any of their conveyors. But I was still confident in my statement and did not back down from it.
