Leading energy transitions through disruptions

“In every era, there comes a moment when energy must speak—not only in power, but in purpose.” — In the spirit of Daniel Nicol Dunlop.

The pace of contemporary geopolitics is shifting more quickly than we can react. The ongoing tariff-led trade instabilities are straining supply chains and hampering markets.

Yet beneath the noise lies a deeper truth: the energy story is not all about politics, money or technology. It is about who writes the rules, who shapes the platforms, and who secures the trust of communities, nations and markets.

At stake is not only the pace of progress in energy —but also its responsible advancement.

The World Energy Council is a leadership community, uniquely positioned to act when the world fragments. In moments such as these are a reminder of why we were founded more than 100 years ago amidst the ashes of war and the promise of peace.

Energy is not only an asset—it is a gift. Political storms remind us that the architecture of global trade is fragile. But energy diplomacy can still be resilient—if anchored in respect, reciprocity, and realism.

The Council stands ready to convene a better-quality leadership dialogue – bridging finance, digital and energy interests - with depth and neutrality, to forge new common ground.

The next great leap will require collaboration across public, private, and platform power.

Together we are the stewards of the entire energy system, from power, fuel and storage to demand and supply. Our leadership community is trusted for its resilience, foresight, and long-term view as we pursue the advancement of energy for better lives and a healthy planet

Now is a significant moment to remember what visionary and pragmatic energy diplomacy can do.

The future of energy starts with us today.

Angela Wilkinson First and foremost of all, “energy story” is about truthful information. The time of “Energy Transition” fairytales written by IEA & IPCC is over. We have to face the reality - there is no transition to any sorts of “cleaner” energy sources but only addition of fossil fuels consumption hidden from the public eyes. If we were to believe that miscalculated global average temperature indices represent an existential threat to humanity, then all those climate-warming solar & wind power installations should be banned. If we were to believe that anthropogenic GHG emissions is the cause of warming trend in miscalculated tempereture indices, then carbon accounting fraud in the upstream of solar & wind quasi-renewable energy indistry can not be tolerated

Great sentence: Our leadership community is trusted for its resilience, foresight, and long-term view as we pursue the advancement of energy for better lives and a healthy planet
