Life is not all about success but also about failures

Life is not all about success but also about failures. Some failures teach us imp lessons and some makes us more stronger to remain on right path.

Today, I wd like to share an incidence where I failed in an interview. I worked on a contract for few yrs and the same position was upgraded/ advertised as permanent position so, I applied. Since I had prior experience I was confident. I read the Job requirement carefully and found some areas which were new, hence there was a scope of learning & I was happy considering my thirst to acquire knowledge & learning.

During the interview a question was asked to me, in response to which I honestly said that this much I know and beyond this I am willing to learn. I remember, one of the interviewer said, sorry, we want someone who know it all and don’t want a learner. After the interview a Sr. Colleague who internally knew that I was rejected, came to me and said never say tht you are willing to learn but present as if you are an expert. I was not convinced with that thought. When I went home and spoke to my parents they said, no worries, u did right because life is all about learning never say/think tht you know all. My parents’ response was same as what I believe. Though I faced job related challenges after that but that particular failure strengthen my believe and I choose to learn more & more.

To my suprise, after few years, the person who was selected as an expert, lost that job because after a point there was nothing new to do in tht role so the position was abolished. On the other hand, my thirst for knowledge took me to different places, different org (as consultant) and at different heights enhancing my learning in various areas, much beyond what I cd hv leant in that job.

I strongly believe that knowledge is a vast land and we can’t cover it in entire lifetime. Till date, I thank that failure/rejection & still consider myself a learner and happy to continue being a learner.
