A Look at How Two Companies are Developing Leaders
Harvard Business Review published our article, co-authored with The Conference Board’s Rebecca Ray and DDI’s Rich Wellins, on how two companies from our study are working to develop their younger leaders.
I’ve been very interested in understanding how business leaders – particularly in the c-suite – can get a fact-based view of millennial leaders. With the boomers retiring, and generation x not being large enough to fill the gap, millennial leaders will be making enormous contributions to the American workforce. In 2016, I worked with The Conference Board and DDI to conduct and publish the study: Divergent Views/Common Ground: The Leadership Perspectives of C-Suite executives and Millennial Leaders. During that research, we heard a lot of questions about what other organizations were doing to effectively develop these leaders and give them access to an array of leadership experiences.
We followed up with several of the study participants to learn about innovative approaches to develop emerging leaders, and ultimately wrote this article.

7yInteresting study. I believe a good leader must have strong emotional intelligence skills and while these studies did not mention that, I can see that the techniques used do tell if the person in training possesses EQ skills or not.
