Meet the Team Driving Li-Metal Battery Technology Forward

I founded SES 9 years ago with the vision of establishing a reputation as the world’s leader in development and manufacturing of high-performance Li-Metal batteries for automotive and transportation applications. As we set forth on our mission to not just sustain our global reputation but expand it, I’m pleased to formally announce the executive leadership team (news link) that will be working alongside me to deliver a superior Li-Metal performance in a more practical package.

Rohit Makharia, after serving on our board for several years, has officially joined SES as our newly appointed president and chief operating officer, while Hans Kim joins the team as head of our Korean operations. We have also promoted Yongkyu Son to chief technology officer and Dr. Hong Gan to chief science officer to organize and expand our strategic technical functions. Additionally, we’ve promoted Joanne Ban to chief legal and corporate officer and welcomed Jing Nealis as our chief financial officer.

I am confident that with these leaders at the helm of their respective departments within SES, our company is better positioned for continued global success in the Li-Metal battery technology sector. Their diverse skill sets and backgrounds—from R&D and battery cell and process development for Li-Metal batteries to corporate finance and capital markets experience—has allowed SES to cross the chasm that exists today in the electric vehicle battery market.

Together, our executive leadership team is committed to making EVs more accessible, affordable and better-performing, and I’m excited to see how far this team can take us.
