Memorial Day
Memorial Day
Today is Memorial Day in Israel.
An extraordinary day that stands giant over the natural order of our day to day lives.
At 11:00 AM ( 15' ago) - everything stops.
Cars stop on the side of the road.
People stop in offices.
Life stops for 2 minutes.
If you want to see and feel the essence of modern Israel, to understand the secret of Israeli strength, all you need is 2 minutes.
Stand with Israelis, as they gather and ascend to visit the graves of the righteous who fell in Israel’s wars.
It is not only those whose loved ones fell in battle who visit the graves, but multitudes—many, many of our people—pause their work and gather in cemeteries across the land, to unite with the souls of the fallen.
And when the signal is given—when the siren sounds—the entire people of Israel, their souls and the roots of their souls, become connected and bound together.
These two minutes make us focused and united as one—a single, joined entity stretching from world to world.
Open your heart, my friend.
Open your soul—to connect with all of Israel.
We have two minutes in which the entire nation of Israel enters the Holy of Holies.
When all of Israel is gathered together, as one person with one heart, in deep unity of thought, heart, and spirit—with all those whose blood was spilled on the altar of the return to Zion and its rebuilding.
(From the words of Rabbi Oded Wolansky, as edited by Roee Kronfeld).
This post is dedicated to the heroes of Israel - the men and women who give their lives that we may continue to build families, companies and country.
• Eitan Fish, Tuval Yaakov Tzanani, Yakir Yedidya Shankolevsky, may God avenge his blood
and the the souls of all the fallen IDF soldier in all of Israel’s wars.

3moFor 2 minutes - everything stops. 10 Million Israelis pause their lives for 2 minutes. The differences disappear. For 2 minutes we are 1. The ability to be together as one nation despite our differences is part of what makes Israel great. Part of the success and genius of the startup nation.
