Mental Health Crisis Incoming? Here’s How I’m Preparing — And How You Can Too

Post-COVID, we’re facing a new global wave.

Not a virus.

A mental health tsunami.

The World Health Organisation and top psychologists are warning: The real psychological fallout from the last few years is still ahead.

Some say 1 in every family may be affected in the coming years.

As an executive performance coach, I work with high achievers, and I’m seeing the signs already.

Even people who “have it together” are:

  • Feeling mentally foggy
  • Struggling to focus
  • Hitting emotional flatness
  • Losing clarity on what they’re doing it all for

And they don’t talk about it… because they’re supposed to be the strong ones.

Here’s what I believe:

Mental and emotional resilience is now a leadership skillset.

Not just for surviving, but for performing, connecting, creating, and leading others through uncertainty.

Here’s how I’m preparing:

  • 1 hour of daily meditation.
  • Regular weight training + evening walks.
  • Yoga for mind, body, and spirit integration.
  • Constant learning and reflection.
  • Deep focus on future vision (some exciting things coming!).
  • Family time and grounding routines. (How are your children showing up?)

This isn’t self-care. This is personal infrastructure.

The stronger I am, the more I can serve, lead, and live.

And here’s how you can start:

  • Take 10–15 minutes of quiet reflection daily.
  • Move your body (to regulate your mind).
  • Ask yourself: “Where am I really at?”.
  • Set boundaries with distractions.
  • Reconnect with your deeper goals.
  • Don’t wait until it breaks; start building resilience now.

We don’t need to be alarmist.

But we do need to be honest.

And we need to be ready.

How are you preparing for what’s ahead? What keeps you mentally strong right now?

Let’s talk about it.
