mHealth work plan from Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy Released

It was wonderful to have the opportunity to be part of the panel discussion at Friday's public meeting where the mHealth work plan from a multi-stakeholder group was released and discussed.

I was part of a panel that discussed the future opportunities for mHealth and how to define and implement technology solutions that are ‘fit-for-purpose’ while ensuring relevance to patients.

What was most interesting to me from the new guidelines and discussion was the many analogs to the development of endpoints that utilize clinical outcome assessments (COAs) to digital health (COAs include any type of PRO, clinician, observer or performance-based outcome).

It is exciting to see how our quantitative and qualitative measurement expertise for endpoint development can be applied to mHealth by outlining appropriate endpoints and applications to ensure we’re measuring what is most relevant to patients to inform and improve patient care
