Modern At-Home Healthcare Access

You say MAHA- Make America Healthy Again

I say MAHA- Modern At-Home Healthcare Access

Transformation doesn't happen in waiting rooms or boardrooms; it happens when people have a big, annoying, and frustrating problems that keeps them up at night, and they find the solution to put the power back in people's hands.

While watching a Marvel movie on Disney+, I realized the MAHA movement started over 10 years ago! I was getting targeted C-TV ads from hims & hers and Ro (very well-done messaging and creative), with the message that every generation benefits from increased access, convenience and affordability to healthcare solutions. Add Everly Health and Nurx from Thirty Madison, they've transformed healthcare delivery.

Then COVID hit, and the cracks in the system widened.

We all realized how much could (and should) be done at home — from diagnostics to treatment to coaching. It was the healthcare enlightenment era.

The FDA’s “Home as the Healthcare Hub” initiative is a step forward. But we need more and we need it faster. We need bold action, private innovation, and public trust. Who will venture down the regulated road of FDA clearance, and who will put their capital to use when it takes 7+ years and most never see the light of day?

Kevin O'Leary was the keynote speaker at the Advamed CEO conference. He told a group of Medtech CEOs that he invests in longevity vs. MedTech because longevity isn't regulated, therefore more predictable, and faster to revenue/return. Medtech takes too long and is too expensive when he's promised his LPs a return on their investment in 5-7 years. Maybe that's why the most successful companies in home care have avoided the FDA path and dodged the FDA bullet, longevity, and LDTs.

But there's hope for those who've chosen the regulated path, this June FDA will begin the review process assisted by AI.

“I was blown away by the success of our first AI-assisted scientific review pilot. We need to value our scientists’ time and reduce the amount of non-productive busywork that has historically consumed much of the review process. The agency-wide deployment of these capabilities holds tremendous promise in accelerating the review time for new therapies,” FDA Commissioner Martin Makary, MD.

I didn't wait for permission with Checkable because I knew the solution would be a grand slam. However, I didn't plan for the delays and heavy lifting that come with each FDA interaction. Like every other entrepreneur out there, my vision is set for the future. We're building what's next in healthcare, and we're optimistic about the future.

We prioritize access, convenience, and trust. Think retail distribution, access to telemedicine, and a consumer-friendly digital experience at a price lower than your co-pay. We believe in the power of moms to make healthcare decisions (women make 87% of decisions), support families, and put care where it belongs: at home.

MAHA demand + AI assisted review times to reduce the time to approval will the capital start flowing to medtech? Deals will begin to unfold in M&A and Modern At-Home Healthcare Access will be a priority.
