What inspired you to pursue your current role?
My last role was office and event management for a digital marketing agency. I was eager to transition to Landlord side and was excited by the opportunity to work within an evolving department at Derwent London that prioritises its occupiers, which I had not experienced in previous office roles on the tenant side.
Our occupiers automatically receive DL/Membership, and the DL/Member Experience team is a core part of that offering. Partnered with the strong relationships the Asset and Property Management teams have built with our occupiers, it sets Derwent London apart from its competitors, which I find very refreshing.
Our team also curates a calendar of annual events for our Members, which we host at our Lounges, DL/78 in Fitzrovia W1 and DL/28 in Old Street EC1, which is where you’ll find me. Exciting opportunities like this, and to be a part of a real value-adding amenity, is what drew me to pursue my role at Derwent London.
What's one surprising or little-known aspect of your role that you think people would find interesting?
I’m based at our DL/28 in Old Street, and day-to-day, I oversee the smooth operation of the Lounge; engaging with both new and regular Members who use the complimentary touchdown workspace, ensuring the site runs smoothly – from our bookable meeting rooms to our DL/Service café – and addressing any issues that may arise. We are responsible for ensuring DL/28, and DL/78 in Fitzrovia, remain safe and compliant for both the team and our Members. With the support of our specialist teams, this includes health & safety training, risk assessments and coordinating various contractors.
I also support on the curation of our Members events calendar, ensuring we seamlessly deliver events which are both enjoyable and valuable for Members. We aim to create new connections and enhance community across the Derwent London portfolio through our exclusive, thought-led events and spaces. Most recently, we hosted a Supper Club at DL/28 with chef, Ruth Hansom, which was a truly special night to be a part of.
How do you stay motivated and inspired in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment?
I stay motivated by focusing on the positive impact of my work and the sense of achievement that comes with solving challenges. I thrive in fast-paced environments because they keep me learning, adapting, and growing. Regular interaction with Members and enhancing their experience through our Lounges, Member events and DL/Service cafés inspires me to keep raising the bar. Being part of a supportive team and seeing the results of our efforts in real time also drives me to keep pushing forward.
What does innovation mean to you in your role, and how do you bring it to life in your work?
For me, innovation is about finding smarter, more creative ways to improve how we work and how Members experience our spaces. I like to bring it to life by staying curious, collaborating with others, and always looking for ways to make things better and more efficient. At Derwent London, that means being open to new ideas – whether it's using smart technology, making our spaces more sustainable, or improving daily operations.
What’s your favourite part of working at Derwent London, and what sets the company apart for you?
My favourite part of working at Derwent London is the genuine sense of community – both within our team and with our Members. There's a real focus on quality, creativity, and care in everything we do, from the spaces we manage to the experiences we deliver. What sets Derwent apart for me is the trust we’re given to take ownership of our spaces, alongside the support to grow professionally. It’s a company that invests in its people and empowers us to deliver meaningful experiences every day.
