- It’s been a better week on the ASX, with markets shaking off some of the crazy coming out of the US. We’re back in the green — a refreshing change.
- Gold, surprisingly, had a poor week, down around 4%. But with a 40% gain over the past 12 months, no one's exactly shedding tears into their bullion vaults.
- Bitcoin staged a very "sophisticated" 1% move for the week. That was enough to retake the crown as the best-performing major asset over the past year (but let’s not pretend Bitcoin's reputation for drama is over).
- Meanwhile, the US continues to cause ripple effects elsewhere — deep-sea mining has become the latest geopolitical flashpoint. Trump signed an executive order fast-tracking US exploration of critical minerals beneath the Pacific Ocean.
- Property listings in Perth finally rose this week, after five weeks of declines.
- Maybe it’s not a sign of market softness — maybe it’s just that everyone went down south for a sneaky break and couldn't host a home open.
- No changes to median house or unit prices
- Top selling suburbs - Baldivis, Burswood, Aveley and Perth
- Home loan rates are continuing to fall — and unless there are extenuating circumstances, you should definitely be seeing a 5 in front of your mortgage rate by now.
