My theme for 2025

January 2nd, 2025
Mom is in the kitchen making salads and eggs.
Baby bro is watching TV. And he is on his laptop.
Picking up my tie from the tie cleaners later today.
It's windy — 43 degrees here in New York.
Let's talk about my theme for 2025.
------------------------------
Most people have New Year's Resolutions.
They need to be specific and clear.
I like yearly themes more than resolutions because they let me view the entire year.
Last year's theme for me was: "The Year of Saying Yes".
Here's my theme for 2025: "The Year of Personal Growth".
Here are 3 reasons why this theme is important.
1. To say yes to growing where I am going.
One of my goals this year is to meet 3 LinkedIn connections. In person.
Last year, I met 2.
This year, the goal is to challenge myself to meet 3.
When was the last time you met someone from your LinkedIn connections?
Make it happen. This year.
People would love to meet and talk to you. Even if you are shy, share how you feel. They know what it is like to be nervous.
2. To invest in myself.
Every day, you get one day older.
What I will do this year is see a doctor. To get a check-up and see what to work on.
It's been 3 years.
You can chat with a future friend. Someone who will support and challenge you.
There are books and posts you can read. One insight is worth it. Email or message the author of a book or post.
Let them know one takeaway you learned. And share a resource to expand on it.
There will be times when you want to try new things. Open your options.
You feel better when you give yourself a chance.
3. To be excited about growth.
2025 started yesterday.
I made one new LinkedIn connection before midnight last night.
Celebrate your wins. And your growth.
Give yourself the gift to grow and help people grow.
I'm excited to see what you do this year.
Thank you for reading. Have a Happy New Year!
Talk soon,
Craig

8moI love your goal to meet three people in person. In 2024, I met Diana Alt and Angie Cullen. It was as if we were long-lost friends as we chatted at dinner. If I am in NYC, I will definitely ask to meet up with you.
