My Yoga Story: 2021

My path to becoming a yoga practitioner and, eventually, a yoga teacher has been a beautiful and nourishing one. After recognising on this life-changing period in my life, I thought I'd share with you how yoga came into my life and how yoga practice and mindfulness helped me.

Seated in the corner of my room, I buried myself between the knees, tears flowing out in frustration. Just about the time when my mind was enjoying the comfort of depression, my phone rang. It was my college friend who called just to say "hi". She fortunately became prey to my emotional breakdown. After listening patiently for more than an hour, she asked me to trust her and exhale all my pressure. She hung up. 

Two minutes later I received a call from Ms. Sapna who put me through the process for 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at Bodhi School of Yoga. Both these angels knew how badly I needed Yoga. 

My first day of class changed me into a better version of myself. I began to improve on a daily basis. I've become more aware and awake in everything I do. Despite the fact that I discovered yoga by chance, I was immediately drawn to it. I began practising yoga almost every day, and I am still grateful to my friend who introduced me to it.

I was significantly helped by my coaches at Bodhi School of Yoga to become a certified Yoga Teacher, which provided me with a lot of insights to the things that were cluttering my mind and allowed me to come into contact with my emotions - both unpleasant and joyful. The practise enabled me to have a better knowledge of myself and of life in general, and I'll be eternally thankful to have discovered yoga in my hour of need. My practise has improved my life in many ways: I now have greater self-confidence, I've learned how to set healthy boundaries, and I've gained a knowledge of how to build a strong, solid connection with my relationships.

We are approaching the end of 2021, and I am delighted to have established myself as a Yoga Trainer, Prenatal Yoga Trainer, Mudhra Therapist, and soon to be Weight Loss Coach. Leaving all of that aside, I have grown into a better person, a friend to society, and, most importantly, a lifetime Yoga practitioner.
