NAP Global Network at NAP Expo 2025
From August 12 to 15, members of our team will be attending the 10th global NAP Expo in Lusaka, Zambia. The NAP Global Network’s experts will co-host event sessions with partner countries and organizations from the adaptation community to exchange insights and lessons on how to achieve effective, inclusive NAP processes. What Does the First Global Stocktake Mean for NAP Processes?
In 2023, the first global stocktake (GST) concluded at the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP 28) in Dubai, painting a clearer picture of the state of global climate action while providing mandates and recommendations for countries to follow up on and integrate them into their national climate change plans, policies, and strategies.
This new report by the NAP Global Network distills the outcomes of the GST into eight key messages for adaptation policy-makers. It also provides recommendations and actionable steps to help countries implement the decisions as part of their NAP processes.

During this session, our panellists gave an overview of the key findings of this review, which focused on how countries are addressing adaptation finance issues. We also heard from Kenya’s NAP focal point, Thomas Lerenten Lelekoitien, who shared real-world examples for how Kenya is identifying, prioritizing, and mobilizing adaptation finance.
