A New Horizon: Reflecting on MaxMine and Looking Ahead to California’s Tech Frontier

I have transitioned from CEO to part time Executive Advisor of MaxMine , as part of a significant transition in my professional journey. Reflections

The past three plus years at MaxMine have been incredibly rewarding. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we successfully secured our Series A funding with our amazing backers, Viburnum Funds in 2021. Post capital raising, we tripled our Annual Recurring #Revenue (ARR), doubling it in the last 12 months, with great ongoing momentum. At MaxMine we set out purpose at centre of everything we do: "To accelerate the sustainability of humanity's scarce resources." True to this goal, our dedication in reducing #CO2 #footprint while ensuring mining remains competitive for green metal extraction essential for the #Netzero2050 transition garnered global recognition.

Awards like the Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) for MaxMine Carbon in Australia and XTC's top 10 global climate impact startups in 2022 at the global event in Berkley. The proverbial pool room is filled with innovation accolades and trophies, highlighting our deep commitement to impact.

MaxMine Carbon, a passion product I launced at West Tech Fest Dec'21 has grown further with our #first40 initiative, expanded the direct CO2 reduction opportunity of MaxMine #Carbon for most mines from 15% to 40% through intelligent partnering using today's existing technology.

Personal motivation and scale momentum

With thoughtful consideration of personal health, family, and the demands of continuous travel, transitioning to an advisory role was a logical step and supported by the board. This change comes at a time that MaxMine has a strong scaling foundation, with ample cash reserves in place and an incredible leadership team that knows how to work together.  At MaxMine, we've always delivered exceptional operational excellence. Our platform enabled operators to have their safest and most productive day at work with personalised 1:1 feedback for every shift. At #MaxMineDay 2023 in March, we celebrated the best operators in the world, as objectively measured in data.

We're on the verge of recording 10 million high-resolution operational hours in MaxCube, the highest #quality #OEM independent dataset globally; data quality ensured by AI and remarkable innovation in #IoT and cost effective big data stream processing. And hard wired to results with our site coaches.

Getting ready

I am now embarking on a #LifeDesign journey, which includes a move to California early 2024 to delve deeper into the intersection of the sustainability and human performance with my passion for Data and AI (atoms + bits). There has never been a better time to make this move.

In anticipation of the Q1 2024 move, I'll be in Southern California during the XPRIZE Malibu Conclave from 2 to October to 5 November, and have now extended my trip to be in SoCal 29 October, and the San Francisco/Bay Area from 6 November to 14 November. The process for a replacement CEO search was approved by the board and began in August including the use of agency’s. Feel free to suggest candidates you think will love our mission! Interim, the Chair, Tom Cawley, will step in as interim CEO. My role as an Executive Advisor is there to support Capital Raising, CEO Transition, Strategy, and Brand as needed.
