Normalize Walking Some Paths Alone, Your Goals Are Personal
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how easy it is to feel lonely on your journey. Whether you’re chasing a new career, building a business, or breaking through personal barriers, the path can get isolating.
But here’s something I’ve come to realise: it’s perfectly okay to walk alone sometimes.
Our goals are personal. They are born from our dreams, values, and stories. And because of that, not everyone will understand the roads you choose to travel, and that’s normal.
In a world that celebrates “community” and “teamwork” (which matter, by the way), we can forget that there are moments when you have to rely on your compass. Sometimes, you’ll outgrow certain spaces. Sometimes, you’ll have to leave behind comfort zones. And sometimes, you’ll simply have to trust your gut even if no one claps for you yet.
• 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀, 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴.
• 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗱𝗱𝘀, 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴.
• 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆, 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴.
Don’t resent the solitude. It’s part of the growth. It’s part of the confidence-building. It’s where you learn to trust yourself in a world that is always trying to steer you in a hundred directions.
When you do reach that milestone, you’ll look back and thank yourself for being willing to walk alone.
So let’s normalise this:
• 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁.
• 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿.
• 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱.
To anyone out there on a quiet, personal journey: I see you. Keep going. Your future self will thank you.
What’s one path you’ve had to walk alone, and how did it shape you? Let’s share in the comments; you never know who you might inspire.
