Northside Cherokee, Forsyth honored for patient experience

Northside Hospital Cherokee and Northside Hospital Forsyth have received the 2025 Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades, placing them among the top 15% of hospitals nationwide for patient satisfaction.

The Healthgrades recognition highlights Northside Hospital’s ongoing commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care and supporting a strong workplace culture.

Workplace excellence

Northside Hospital was named a top employer by Comparably, a workplace culture and compensation monitoring site. Among large U.S. employers (more than 500 employees), Northside earned recognition in three categories:

• Best Career Growth
• Best Leadership Teams
• Best HR Teams

Specialized accreditations and quality awards

Several Northside locations received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for quality care, with recertifications across multiple specialties:

• Northside Cherokee: Advanced Primary Heart Attack Center
• Northside Forsyth: Advanced Heart Failure Certification, Advanced Primary Heart Attack Center, Joint Replacement – Hip and Knee
• Northside Gwinnett: Pneumonia

Northside Hospital Heart Institute earned expanded accreditation from the  Intersocietal Accreditation Commission. In addition to adult transthoracic echocardiography, the institute is now accredited in transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) at Northside Atlanta, Cherokee, Forsyth, Duluth and Gwinnett.

All Northside hospitals received multiple quality achievement awards from the American Heart Association’s  Get With The Guidelines® (GWTG) program, recognizing excellence in stroke, heart failure, resuscitation, STEMI and NSTEMI care.

Northside Atlanta, Cherokee, Forsyth and Gwinnett also received the Commitment to Quality Award, an honor for hospitals that reach achievement-level recognition in three or more GWTG modules. Only 158 hospitals nationwide earned this distinction.

In addition, Northside Hospital Sleep Disorders Centers have achieved 25 years of continuous accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine — one of only 25 programs in the U.S. to reach this milestone in 2025.

Additional national honors

All five Northside hospitals were named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2025 list of  Great Community Hospitals. The list recognizes hospitals for clinical excellence, compassionate care and community impact.

Newsweek also recognized Northside in two prestigious global programs:

• America’s Best Maternity Hospitals

U.S. News & World Report rankings

All Northside hospitals were ranked among the top hospitals in Georgia on U.S. News & World Report’s 2025–2026 Best Hospitals list, which helps patients and physicians make informed decisions about care.

Hospitals were rated “High Performing” in multiple adult specialties, procedures and conditions:

• Northside Atlanta: 10 areas, including gynecologic cancer surgery, hip fracture, knee replacement and lung cancer surgery
• Northside Cherokee: 14 areas, including back surgery, kidney failure, prostate cancer surgery and stroke
• Northside Forsyth: 12 areas, including back surgery, heart arrhythmia, heart failure and hip replacement
• Northside Gwinnett: 14 areas, including colon cancer surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure and stroke
