NuWin Foundation - Our Next Decade

As we entered 2018...the NuWin Foundation celebrated 10 years of being part of the Kansas City donors community. We are proud of the local charities we support...like the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, New Horizons Ranch, KC Hospice, Boys & Girls Club of KC, Chain of Hope, LS Sporting, and many more!

As I have shared through 2018...we are now ready to extend our reach to the international community! We have been very fortunate to work with some of the most amazing people that have stamped their Love and Care to nations and regions that are desperate for help. As I look at how I would prepare the NuWin Foundation for this challenge...I realized our mission and our goals will need to evolve.

For the many people that have and continue to support our efforts...please allow me to share the new direction for the NuWin Foundation:

Our Mission:

The NuWin Foundation is committed to the ideals of "social sustainability". We strive to create and foster the ability of communities to develop processes and structures which not only meet the needs of its current members, but also support the ability of future generations to maintain healthy communities and quality of life for its people.

Our Goal:

The NuWin Foundation will actively identify, engage, and support projects that focus on social, ecological, economic, cultural, and political sustainability that ultimately result in improving the quality of life for all.

NuWin Foundation - Dimensions of Social Sustainability:

Equity

  • When communities provide equitable opportunities and outcomes for all its people, particularly the poorest and most vulnerable.

Diversity

  • When communities promote and encourage diversity.

Interconnected and Social Cohesion

  • When communities provide processes, systems, and structures that promote connectedness within and outside the community at all levels.

Democracy and Governance

  • When communities provide democratic processes and open and accountable governance structures.

Maturity

  • When individuals accept their responsibility for consistent growth and improvement through broader social attributes.

Quality of Life

  • When communities ensure that basic needs are met and fosters a good quality of life for all members at the individual, group, and community levels (ie. health, housing, education, employment, safety).
