Our Team is Growing!
October was a bustling month for us with the addition of three new team members!
Sean Richardson joined as our first-ever Events Intern, a new initiative designed to support budding professionals. Sean will gain cross-functional experience by working with the Marketing team, Operations team, and the Sales team on our World Vape Show portfolio.
Mia Curtis is our new Social Media Executive, managing platforms across multiple portfolios.
Lydia Leverett came on board as a Marketing Executive, supporting marketing plans for our World Vape Show.
October Event Spotlight
On October 9-10, we hosted the World Tobacco Events, Asia event alongside the World Vape Show at the Grand City Convex Convention Hall in Surabaya, Indonesia.
Colin Case (Sales Director) shared: “I am happy to announce that WT Asia event this year was a resounding success with a record number of visitors, so much so that the hall for 2025 is a virtual sell out. WT Asia event is the only tobacco event in the Asia Pacific region and is therefore in much demand.”
Raising Awareness and Showing Support
October was also a time for reflection and support:
Black History Month: We celebrated the significance of Black History Month, reaffirming our commitment to inclusive spaces where diverse voices can thrive.
World Mental Health Day (10 October): With 79% of event professionals noting their roles as increasingly stressful, we prioritised mental health awareness. The events industry ranks as the third most stressful profession globally, behind military service and home health aides (Hippo Events, 2024). We encourage those within our industry to break the stigma and seek support when needed.
Celebrating Achievements
Global Vapouround Awards: Congratulations to our World Vape Show team for winning Best Trade Show at the Global Vapouround Awards on 25 October.
Portfolio Director Jake Nixon shared: "We’re thrilled to have won ‘Best Trade Show’ at the Vapouround Global Awards 2024. It’s an incredible honour to have our hard work recognised and celebrated by the industry. Thank you to everyone who supported us, and we look forward to an even more successful 2025."
Indy Awards 2024: A special shout out to Lucy Findlay Beale, who was highly commended for Best Indy Event Director at the Exhibition News Indy Awards 2024. Kudos also to Tom Proudley, Event Director at FutureScape, for winning this category!
