Odoo's Game-Changing Support Policy – Here's What You Need to Know!

Hello Odooers,

A big update just dropped this week by Odoo’s CEO Fabien – and it’s going to reshape how we approach upgrades and long-term system support.

🚨 Until Now:

Odoo Enterprise support was limited to the 3 most recent versions – meaning businesses had to upgrade every 3 years to stay supported.

But let’s be real:

👉 Not every business is ready to upgrade that often.

👉 Some need more stability, more time, or more customization flexibility.

✅ The New Policy: Long-Term Support for All Versions

Yes, you read that right. Odoo Enterprise support will now cover ALL versions — past and present — with:

  • 🛠️ Bug fixes

  • 🔐 Security updates

  • 🔄 Upgrade assistance

  • 👨‍💻 Technical support

Whether you’re still running Odoo 12 or already on 17, you’ll now have peace of mind. ❤️

💰 What's the Catch?

Support for legacy versions (older than 3 major releases) will now come with a 25% extra fee on your annual subscription.

But here’s the good news: ⏳ This fee won’t apply until April 2026. You have time to plan your upgrade — or choose stability with support.

🧭 Who’s Impacted?

  • Odoo Online users – Not affected. Your systems are auto-upgraded every few months.

  • Odoo.sh & On-Premise customers – New policy applies to all new or renewed contracts starting now.

  • Odoo.sh support now extends to the last 5 versions!

🤝 Why This Matters

  • Customers get flexibility — upgrade when it suits you or stay supported with a small premium.

  • Partners get confidence — you can still rely on Odoo’s help for older systems.

  • Odoo ensures quality support for all, while gently encouraging evolution. 💡

🗓️ What Should You Do Now?

  • Plan your next upgrade cycle with purpose.

  • Talk to your Odoo partner to assess what’s best — upgrade or extend.

Let’s make sure your Odoo journey stays smooth, secure, and supported — no matter the version you’re on.
