Onboarding Tips - Week 46

Week 46 | Idea 46 | Clinics!

This week's idea is borrowed straight from Dana Soza's session at the Preflight Community event in San Francisco 2 weeks ago. It's pretty straightforward, and yet impactful!

This is about having "<Product Name> Clinics" for your product, as a way to ensure and increase adoption with users for your large customers.

Here are some tips on doing this right:

  • Brand the session as a "clinic", and make sure you drum up some excitement around it.
  • Help your POC on the customer side push out communication around the sessions to all their users by providing them well crafted templates - to be sent via email, slack/teams, etc.
  • Have a clear agenda around it. e.g: "The first 30 mins we'll show you how to do your work most efficiently with <Product Name>, and the next 30 mins will be an AMA with our team".
  • Take help from your POC and a couple of users on the customer side to ensure what you showcase is going to resonate well with all the users.
  • Have the list of all the users who should attend, and also meticulously track which of them attended a series of such sessions that you conduct for your large customers who have over 50 of users (or 100s of users!).
