An Open Letter to Ozinga Coworkers Regarding COVID-19: March 21, 2020
Dear Ozinga Coworkers,
Today, Governor Pritzker’s stay at home order goes into effect for Illinois residents at 5 p.m. The services Ozinga provides are designated as essential and exempt from this executive order. In light of this news, we plan to continue to be fully operational for the foreseeable future in order to serve the needs of our customers and the community. We know this will be challenging. Yet we are confident that together, we will adapt and overcome as we have done throughout the generations. We are proud to be able to serve our community in this moment.
We care deeply for you and your families. The Ozinga family’s order of priority is God, family, work. We understand and respect that each individual has their own unique circumstances and you need to do what’s best for you and your family in these unprecedented times. While most of our office coworkers will be working from home, we recognize that is not an option for our production and delivery coworkers. That being said, I want you to know directly from me that if at any point you make the decision to not come to work, I understand; please communicate that with your manager. We will respect each individual’s decision without any consequences or judgment during this time. Thank you!
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.” Psalm 46:1-2a
Thank you,
Marty
