OpenAI Surprises with Powerful ChatGPT Agent

Welcome, Unboxx Community,

Here’s what you’re going to explore in this post:

  • Learn how to build interactive tools and apps without code, and get the latest prompts, headlines, and social posts.
  • How robots are transforming the world around us and the agentic coding tool that is breaking the Internet.

Sam Altman says he’s “feeling the AGI”  and this time, it’s justified. OpenAI has just introduced ChatGPT Agent, a new feature that blends reasoning, decision-making, and real-world action into a single tool.

What does it do? ChatGPT Agent can switch effortlessly between thinking and taking action. It runs on a virtual computer, shares its thought process step-by-step, and can access a terminal to write and run code, generate files, and work with your private data. You can step in anytime to tweak or guide its actions.

Some real-world examples:

  • Upload a wedding invite → Ask the agent to suggest outfits, brainstorm gift ideas, and book your hotel
  • Share a product image → Ask it to design swag (like “500 1×1 laptop stickers”) and ship them to a specific address
  • Request a slide deck → It’ll build the presentation with charts and visuals, then self-review and improve weak slid.

How well does it work? On Humanity’s Last Exam one of the toughest benchmarks,  ChatGPT Agent scores a best-in-class 41.6, outperforming Deep Research by 15 points. It also posts strong results on FrontierMath, BrowseComp, and DSBench.

What about safety? To guard against prompt injection attacks, the agent includes monitoring systems that flag suspicious websites. Still, OpenAI notes these aren’t perfect, and users should proceed with care.

When is it available? It’s already rolling out. Pro users get 400 monthly queries, while Plus and Team users receive 40 per month.

🧪 Self‑Driving Labs at NC State North Carolina State University researchers have unveiled a robotic “self‑driving laboratory” using dynamic flow technology. Unlike earlier systems that waited for each experiment to finish before analyzing results, this one runs continuously, adjusting experimental parameters on the fly and collecting data every half‑second. Published in Nature Chemical Engineering, this approach generates at least 10× more data than previous steady‑state methods and achieves optimal material candidates right away Wiley Online Library + 8NC State.

These self‑driving platforms, sometimes called “discovery factories,” combine robotics, machine learning, and real-time sensing to accelerate research, slash waste, and reduce costs. They've already sped up breakthroughs in battery tech, solar cells, specialty materials, and more, with some labs now claiming 10–100× faster discoveries NC State News.

🪖 Ukraine's Fully Unmanned Assault Ukraine’s military (notably the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade’ “Deus Ex Machina” unit) recently executed what they declare the world’s first entirely unmanned ground assault. Ground robots and FPV drones breached Russian positions, destroyed enemy defenses, and escorted captured Russian soldiers back all without a human soldier stepping onto the front lineWikipedia.

This milestone highlights Ukraine’s rapid robotics innovation: over 200 domestic firms, government-backed production of ~15,000 UGVs by end of 2025, and the establishment of a formal Unmanned Systems Forces branch (5,000 personnel strong)

🚀 Space Tug Tested on ISS Wisconsin-based Kall Morris has successfully tested its gecko-inspired robotic arms aboard the International Space Station. Dubbed a “tow truck for space,” the system can latch onto objects of nearly any size  no docking port needed. With a commercial launch planned for 2027, the tech could extend satellite lifespans and help reduce dangerous space debris.

👷 Robotic Exosuits Hit the Hangar Korean Air is outfitting its maintenance teams with the X-ble Shoulder  a robotic exosuit co-developed by Hyundai and Kia. The wearable tech reduces shoulder strain by up to 60 % during overhead repair work. Following a successful rollout to 300 workers, there are plans to expand it to heavy-labor industries like construction, shipbuilding, and agriculture. ———————————

🚁 Broader Implications

  • The NC State self‑driving lab could revolutionize fields from clean energy to pharmaceuticals by enabling rapid discovery cycles.
  • Ukraine’s robotic assault and modular platforms signal a leap in autonomy on the battlefield, potentially reshaping future military doctrine.
  • Emerging systems like Ursula and Scythe further demonstrate Ukraine’s rapid innovation in air, sea, and land robotics.
