Our Vision for Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain

Being a founder of Tech Company UrSpayce® and Citizen of Bharat, Bhopal , I feel its our responsibility that 2025 Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Mela Stampede should not happen in the upcoming Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain. We have three years to deploy the solution.

World should witness the world class experience at best in the upcoming Simhastha in Ujjain.

I can see how our CM Dr. Mohan Yadav and entire MPSeDC - State IT Center Team has already initiated working hard to bring the best of experience.

Problem Statement

The sheer scale of the Ujjain Simhastha MahaKumbh, with millions of pilgrims, poses a significant risk of crowd congestion, stampedes, and general inefficiencies in movement. Without a robust and dynamic system to manage these massive crowds, pilgrim safety and a positive spiritual experience can be severely compromised. Key challenges include controlling crowd flow at high-density points like ghats and temples, responding to sudden crowd surges, and ensuring clear and safe passage throughout the Mela area.

Solution Statement

The solution is to implement a comprehensive, multi-layered approach to smart layouts and movement planning. This involves intelligent physical design through dynamic zoning, dedicated pilgrim corridors, and sophisticated queue management systems. These physical measures are underpinned by a powerful digital framework, including a central Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) that uses real-time data from CCTV, drones, and IoT sensors to monitor, predict, and proactively manage crowd movements. This approach allows for real-time adjustments, predictive congestion modeling, and efficient emergency response, ensuring pilgrim safety and an orderly flow throughout the event.

Smart Mobility and Access Management for Ujjain Simhastha 2028

The Simhastha MahaKumbh in Ujjain is a monumental event attracting millions of pilgrims. Ensuring their efficient, inclusive, and responsive movement is paramount for safety, convenience, and a spiritual experience. This solution outlines a multi-faceted approach leveraging technology, urban planning, and community engagement to achieve smart mobility and access management.

1. Smart Layouts and Movement Planning for Pilgrims

Effective crowd flow management is the cornerstone of a successful MahaKumbh. This involves intelligent design and real-time adaptation.

  • Dynamic Zoning and Segregation:
  • Predictive Analytics and Real-time Monitoring:
  • Infrastructure Adaptations:

2. Alternative Ghats and VIP Movements Automation

Managing the movement of VIPs and utilizing alternative ghats effectively can significantly reduce pressure on primary areas.

  • Alternative Ghats Promotion and Management:
  • VIP Movement Automation and Streamlining:

3. Public Transport and Shuttle Service

A robust and efficient public transport system is crucial to minimize private vehicle reliance and manage pilgrim influx.

  • Multi-Modal Integration:
  • Extensive Shuttle Service Network:
  • Digital Information and Ticketing:

4. Universal Access for Divyangjan and Elderly

Ensuring inclusive access for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) and elderly pilgrims is a moral imperative and a key component of smart management.

  • Barrier-Free Infrastructure:
  • Dedicated Services and Assistance:
  • Digital Accessibility:

5. Dynamic Signage and Smart Junction Redevelopment

Clear, real-time information and intelligent traffic management are vital for smooth movement.

  • Dynamic Digital Signage:
  • Smart Junction Redevelopment:

Overall Implementation Strategy:

  • Phased Development: Implement the solution in phases, starting with pilot projects and scaling up based on lessons learned.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Ensure seamless coordination among all stakeholders: government agencies (local, state, central), police, disaster management, transport authorities, healthcare providers, volunteers, and local communities.
  • Public Awareness Campaigns: Launch extensive public awareness campaigns well in advance of the event to educate pilgrims about the smart mobility initiatives, mobile app usage, designated routes, and safety protocols.
  • Training and Drills: Conduct rigorous training for all personnel involved (police, volunteers, transport staff) and conduct mock drills to test the effectiveness of the entire system, especially emergency response.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Conduct a thorough post-event analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented solutions, identify areas for improvement, and document best practices for future large-scale events.

By adopting this comprehensive and technology-driven approach, Ujjain can ensure a truly smart, efficient, inclusive, and responsive mobility and access management system for the Simhastha 2028 MahaKumbh, providing a safe and memorable experience for all pilgrims.

Techstack architecture is currently under process . we have Considered to use a combination of Without Internet and with internet solution. People who are reading this blog can contribute by commenting on if they have visited any Kumbh recently and their experience what they found which can help in building this solution. Also people who wanted to be part of mission can also comment. Would happy to learn and take inputs.
