People of PnT: Meet Sooyong Park, System Engineer in the IoT Business Team

In this latest edition of People of PnT, we meet Park Sooyong, System Engineer from our IoT Business Team. Sooyong shares his hands-on experiences managing field operations, particularly in challenging environments such as naval ships, and emphasizes the importance of collaboration and responsibility in successful project execution. Let's dive into Sooyong’s perspective on field engineering, teamwork, and what it means to work with good people at People and Technology. 🌟

Q: What major projects or field-centered work are you currently in charge of?

A: I am currently working mainly on a naval ship project as part of the IoT business team. In the office, I communicate with developers about areas that need development or modification, apply updates to the test server, and conduct testing. Afterward, I go out to the field to patch the new version and install sensors to ensure they operate properly.

Q: What do you find most interesting about working as a field engineer in the IoT business team?

A: Frequent business trips allow me to visit places I wouldn't normally go and to access areas that most people don't experience. It was very exciting to board and work on large naval ships that I had only seen in the media. It was truly a new experience.

Q: What do you think is the most important factor for successfully completing a project?

A: I believe it’s collaboration and a sense of responsibility. Completing a project successfully isn’t something one person can do alone; it requires proactive communication and actions with other companies. Helping others as if their tasks were my own and working cooperatively is essential for finishing a project properly without major incidents or accidents.

Q: What do you like most about working at People and Technology, or what benefits do you appreciate the most?

A: What I like most is being able to work with kind and good people. Work can be tough, and there are tasks that I must personally handle. However, human relationships are not something you can manage alone no matter how hard you try. Meeting people who understand, communicate kindly, and support each other is an incredible fortune and benefit, in my opinion.

Q: What value do you consider most important at work?

A: The value I consider most important is responsibility. Without responsibility, I believe any task is bound to fail from the beginning. No matter what the job is, I think it must be carried out with a strong sense of responsibility until the end.

Sooyong’s story reminds us that real-world innovation relies not only on technical skills but also on strong teamwork, a sense of responsibility, and mutual support. His journey highlights the importance of human connections and professional dedication in achieving success in the field. Stay tuned for more stories from the talented people who make PnT thrive! 🌟
