Perplexity AI has built a reputation for excellence in research and providing valuable resources. However, my recent experiences have left me questioning this claim. On two separate occasions today, I requested Perplexity to search for articles on a specific topic and provide the corresponding online sources. The results were disappointing. Out of the eight or nine articles I requested, only one had an adequate source. Several links led to 404 errors, while others directed me to articles that, upon further investigation, proved nonexistent. This outcome is particularly disheartening given Perplexity's emphasis on specificity and its commitment to delivering appropriate resources and links. The discrepancy between the company's stated goals and my actual experience is concerning.
