PM Modi Sir launches e-GramSwaraj portal and mobile app on Panchayati Raj Divas

PM Narendra Modi Sir interacted with all the village Sarpanch's across the country through video conferencing at 11 am yesterday, on the occasion of the National Panchayati Raj Day 2020. Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was also present on the occasion.

While addressing all the Sarpanch's, the Prime Minister said that the biggest lesson learned from Coronavirus pandemic is that we have to become self-dependent. Without being self-dependent, PM Modi said it will become difficult to deal with such crisis situations.

The Prime Minister further urged the villages, districts, states to become self-dependent in their respective levels for their individual needs. Similarly, he said that the nation also has to learn how to become self-dependent so that we don't have to ever depend on anyone else from outside to fulfill our own needs.

i. e-Gram swaraj Portal & Mobile app:

With the help of this Portal and app, villagers of the country will be able to keep all kinds of information on their smartphones. This is being seen as the beginning of the digitization of panchayats.

The information of the Gram Panchayats, their functioning will be available to the villagers. This will bring transparency and will also speed up the work of completing projects.

ii.Swamitva (which means Ownership) Scheme:

It uses drones in the mapping of properties in villages. This will end confusion and quarrels over the property. This will help in planning development works in the village. Apart from this, like in cities, now people will be able to take loans from banks even in villages.

It has been developed by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj in collaboration with Survey of India and State Panchayati Raj Department, State Revenue Department, using the latest drone-based survey technology.

It was launched in pilot mode in 6 states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. After this, it will be implemented in every village in the country.

What is Gram Swaraj Portal?

The launch of the e-gram swaraj portal has been a talk of the town even before its launch. This project is launched by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj in India. When you will go to the portal of gram swaraj you will find a dashboard there. The Dashboard on the portal has the name of the state number of vouchers and the status of the payment. With the help of this portal, it will be easy to look at decentralized planning, progress reporting & work-based accounting.

Here on the portal, you can find the number of created profiles. All the numbers will get updated by default as soon as a new profile will be created on the portal. Here the financial progress of different plans is easily visible. The number of approved GPDPs (Gram Panchayat Development Plans) and the geo-tagging initiated can also be traced easily from this portal. The portal will also have a reports section. In this section, the visitors can see the Panchayat Profiles, Accounting, Planning and PFMS Dashboards, & the Supporting Documents section. The portal has the following report sections; Panchyat Profile, Planning, Accounting, and PFMS Dashboard. As of now only, Accounting, and PFMS Dashboard are working on the portal. The rest two options will start working soon as the portal is launched today only.

e-Gram Swaraj App Download

E gram Swaraj app for gram panchayats and villagers has been released today. The app will soon be live in Google Play Store. You can download the app on your android phone through Google Play Store. The app will also be available on the Apple Store from where it can be downloaded on your iPhone. Meanwhile, the app can be downloaded from the official portal of egramswaraj.gov.in. You can visit the egramswaraj.gov.in portal.

Here are the steps that you need to follow to download the e-GramSwaraj mobile app;

Step 1: To download the app you will have to open the Google Play Store or the App Store on your android mobile.Visit; https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nic.in.unified

Step 2: On the play store, you will have to look for ‘e-GramSwaraj‘ in the search bar

Step 3: Once you find the e-Gram Swaraj app, click on it.

Step 4: Now choose the install option & download the app on your mobile phone.

While launching the app of e-gram swaraj the PM Modi has also pointed out different use and benefits of this newly launched app and portals; 

According to the PM, the Swaraj app and portal will help facilitate settlement of land and property disputes in rural areas.

Gram Panchayats and villagers can apply for the loans online through this app or portal.

Villagers can also avail of the loans from different banks through this app and portal.

With the help of the Swaraj app and portal gram, Panchayats can digitize all their needs.

The launch of this app will also promote e-governance of the Panchayats in villages.

Now the villages will be able to work and govern digitally which will make them aware of the benefits of the digital world.

With the help of portal and app, the decentralization of work will be done and transparency in work will be increased.
