The Power of Community During Career Transition

The Power of Community During Career Transition

Why Community Might Be the Most Powerful Thing as You Navigate What's Next.

When you’re navigating a career transition, especially after redundancy or being in a job for many years, it can feel like the ground has shifted beneath you.

As leaders, we thrive in teams. Yet when we face career transitions like redundancy, many of us suddenly find ourselves navigating change in isolation.

There’s the loss of structure, familiarity, identity, routine and accountability. The questions from friends and loved ones: What now? What next?

I know that feeling, not just from supporting others through it, but because I’ve been there too.

My Story

I’ve experienced two redundancies in my career. I’ve also been fired, during one of the hardest chapters of my personal life, as I navigated my marriage breakup, a bereavement and living with undiagnosed ADHD.

My confidence was massively knocked, my mental health and wellbeing was rock bottom and it was challenging to rebuild without getting the right support.

Yes, I had supportive friends and family. But they weren’t going through what I was. They didn’t fully understand the grief, or identity shift that comes with a challenging transition.

What I needed most was being around others going through a similar journey.  Who fully understood. People who got it. Who were also in transition. Who could say: “Me too- and here’s what helped me.”

The truth is, this doesn’t have to be a lonely chapter. Redundancy or starting again, can be the spark for a brilliant new beginning; a chance to reconnect with your strengths, rediscover your purpose, and explore opportunities that truly excite you.

That’s why I’m excited to launch my new career community, to support professionals and executives navigating a career transition.

I’ve run two communities previously and seen the magic happen. People supporting and cheerleading each other, lifting other up and celebrating the wins. The kind of things we tend to do in teams at work, so why not create a team outside of work?

I recently hosted a group call to ask what people wanted from the space, and something beautiful happened on that one call. People listened. Shared. Encouraged.

And I thought:  This is exactly the kind of community I want to lead.

One where we look out for each other. Where everyone has something to give, be heard and somewhere to belong.

In Community, You’ll Find:

🦋 A supportive network of leaders who “get it”

🦋 Fresh energy, new ideas, and honest encouragement

🦋 A space to take off the “I’m fine” mask and breathe

🦋 Accountability and momentum, even on days you feel stuck

✨ Practical tools to boost confidence and clarity

✨ Space to explore your next chapter with resilience and optimism

This is your opportunity to step forward with support around you, not just to find your next role, but to relaunch into it with clarity, energy, and purpose.

You don’t have to do this alone. And you’re not meant to . Let’s rise together.

If you’re navigating change, and want a place to feel seen, supported, and empowered,  I’d love to welcome you in.
